This post ignores why those JCAHO guidelines went into effect (to address discriminatory practices, especially the undertreatment of Black people’s pain). It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to say that people with experience managing pain were opposed to increasing regulatory focus on pain management - most of us

Painkiller tries to dig into it but it’s still from a Purdue/Sackler perspective, unfortunately.

Did anyone else notice that as she left the house near the end of the episode, as she stepped down from the porch you can hear the sharp clicks of her hooves as she comes down each step, but as she walked back to her truck, just as she began to smile, her gait changes as if her deer legs/hooves were reverting back to

It’s kinda weird that this recap doesn’t mention the times Deer Lady’s shown up before in the series.

“A slip of the tongue” is such a lie. You don’t just stumble into a word that’s not already in your vocabulary. When these bigots try to use that excuse, I sometimes think about all those fancy words that I had to learn for the SAT and GRE. Even though I’m familiar with words like “obsequious,” I never actually say

Deer Lady kinda does it for me. I think its worth the risk of getting stabbed.

Rob was angry that instead of being the star of the show, it changed to revolve around President Bartlett, and was angry that Brad Whitford, Richard Schiff, Janel Moloney, and Allison Janney were getting more story lines than he was.

his producers are likely the ones that are actively terrible people that make sure Joe talks to other terrible people

Yeah. It was kind of obvious that Rob thought he was going to be the George Stephanopoulos star character of the Bartlett administration, then they discovered that the President was the star. Much like The Sopranos, this was a well made show that really wandered on story arcs (and details) from season to season.

Given his history and the... zeitgeist we find ourselves in, ol’ Rob might want to keep the references to schoolgirls to a minimum.

It’s almost as if Joe Rogan were a vacuous douchebag with no real expertise or strong opinion on any topic; a “go with the flow” kind of bro who routinely spouts a bunch of nonsense that millions of fellow vacuous bros find “entertaining.

I mean... is this news? We largely knew that the original plan was a President rarely-seen/heard, and an ensemble cast led by Rob Lowe (... and Moira Kelly who was a terrible fit) who were the West Wing staffers...

I have such a thing for the Deer Lady. I’m not sure what to make of that.

It is Criminal! that Hulu does not advertise this show more and that it does not win more awards. Rez Dogs is fantastic, funny, heartfelt, and original and some of the best TV in years. I hope these three seasons end up being shipped to schools and libraries for free and  on disk so Native students have access to it.

My biggest fear has always been a brain disease, like glioblastoma. This might be worse, because you’re fully aware of what’s happening to you.

Fucking hell, ALS is terrfying.

Personally, I think Blade II hasn’t aged very well. So much of the movie just screams early 2000's edgy. Don’t get me wrong, a lot about the film is great, but I just think Blade has aged better, especially in the overall design and look of the film. There’s something more timeless about it how it looks and moves. And

I’m surprised none of these bootlicking dolts have suggested he cut back on Starbucks and avocado toast.

Why are so many idiots taking this to mean he’s broke? He never said that.

Excited for this episode. The Deer Lady episodes have been my favorites of each of the previous seasons. No character I think better exemplifies the show’s magic realism
