I think the good version would have been like Preacher or The Boys. It has a good cast and some good moments, but never quite came together for me. Having Will Arnett dub Samoa Joe was a mistake, it never looked natural the way it did on Doom Patrol or Mandalorian. It needed tightening and polishing.

Twisted Metal could have been a good show, it just wasn’t well done. 

Yeah, I think commenters here often make the mistake of thinking most moviegoers are as invested as they are in studio strategy. If it’s a good movie, I don’t think they’d give a damn.

The problem wasn’t that Donna’s ending was sad, it was that Davies, at the time (IIRC) didn’t realize that it was sad or cruelly ironic. I vaguely remember some comments from him about it being OK because she got married and won the lottery, ignoring the tragedy of losing all her memories, character growth and ability…

I LIKE THE FLASHBACKS. They are a nice counterpoint to the high tech arctic assholery of the present. I do appreciate these recaps though!

I don’t mind the flashbacks, especially since it fleshes out Bill’s character and his relationship with Darby. I’m more annoyed that half the show is close-ups of Emma Corrin’s confused face. Yeah, the whole thing scream of him wanting to be perceived as more serious because he wore a lot of prosthetics to “transform”. I can see needing the aging make-up for the older Berstein, but for the young, it’s just actorly pretension.
