Possibly. If their funds take outside investment and have over $150m under management, then they are a registered fund regulated by the SEC. I’m pretty sure convicted felons cannot run a registered fund.

The difference is the location. The Cross Island/Belt Parkway are already very heavy traffic on a daily basis; putting a stadium there without a convenient mass transit option would make it even more of a bottleneck. The Coliseum is more out of the way and does not impact traffic on the surrounding area.
I don’t like this being called a flagrant, because to me he’s just trying to give a foul to avoid an easy basket, but plays like this get called as flagrant all the time. Draymond wound up and the slashed him across the shoulders, and in recent years they have been trying to officiate out hard contact above the…
I think to present this as Porzingis was just mildly annoyed is very much an understatement. The reports are that he indicated he’d prefer to be traded. How can the Knicks go into an important off-season where they hope to land a player like Durant or Kyrie and have Porzingis basically telling the world he doesn’t…
There probably are other teams who should be in on the bidding. I think you just have to keep in mind that this is not the NBA where a top player can turn a bad team into a contender. Trout is the best player in the game for several years and hasn’t seen the playoffs since 2014. Smart team building is how you win, not…
I’m pretty sure the thinking of these teams is, although these are two of the best players in the game, they are not worth the current asking price of $300m. As great as Machado is, he’s had one season of 30 HR and 100 RBIs. This is A-Rod type money for a guy who hasn’t even come close to having a year like A-Rod had…
You ever been kicked directly behind the knee? It reflexively causes your leg to give out. I still think Zaza is a dirty player, but i don’t think he intentionally fell down here.
It may be a large market, but Florida is also very much a transient state, with a lot of seasonal residents and retirees that are transplants from other states. Hard to build a fanbase when you have a lot of residents that are already fans of the team from where ever they came from. Even when teams like Tampa Bay or…
I don’t watch the Clips much but from the times that I have, I’m very unimpressed with Blake Griffin. He overestimates his ability to create his own shot off the dribble and when things start going poorly he mopes all over the court, complaining to the officials and committing frustration fouls. His body language last…
Korver saved the game for them. That team played like butt for 3 quarters.
What are you realistically going to find out about Davis Webb by putting him out there with this team? That he can do even less than Eli with this team that has a terrible offensive line, no receivers and no running game? I’m not convinced that Eli can’t play anymore.
I have no sympathy for this drunk animal. That being said, the cops need to be better than that. Put her on the ground and cuff her if you have to, but to slug her in the face is unprofessional.
The definition of felony assault depends on the state, but from my understanding, in most states there has to be a weapon involved for it to rise to the level of a felony.
If he was getting good pitches to hit and missing them, I’d be more concerned, but they were giving him a steady dose of breaking balls outside and he was swinging at them. He rarely came to the plate in this series with men on base so the Indians didn’t have to give in and put one over the plate. It also didn’t help…
It kind of sounds to me like she was advocating for a boycott rather than just stating a matter of fact that a boycott would be effective, but regardless, it demonstrates the problem of using twitter to opine on something like this- the point you are trying to make can be easily misconstrued.
If they wanted to extend the netting, they could do it very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are dragging their feet on this because to put a netting up immediately after this happened would almost be an admission that they were negligent in not having it there in the first place.
I went to one of the Yanks-Rays game at Citi Field. That crowd of ~15k people got louder and had a much better atmosphere than a typical sellout crowd at Yankee stadium, probably half of which is comprised of corporate schmucks who know nothing about the team. The fact that the real fans have been priced out of Yankee…
You might think that calling the President a white supremacist is stating an objective fact, but like it or not, there are millions of people who think that it’s an incorrect and offensive statement and ESPN, being a business, does not want to alienate those people. If you’re an on-air personality for ESPN, you cannot…
Hard to tell from the way the catcher took the pitch if it was on purpose or if he got crossed up, but it certainly doesn’t look good that he showed zero concern for the umpire who was crumpled on the ground.
