My theory is they know he’ll fuck it up.
My theory is they know he’ll fuck it up.
Most frightening part: they believe their own bullshit. And so do many, many others.
I know a few other commentators have asked this question, but has any of the media coverage addressed the issue of why Jim Bob and Michelle are the ones doing the press tour and speaking out for Josh when he’s a 27 year old man?
Jim Bob is asking Jesus for advice right now, and Jesus is all
Nope. Best practices for suicide reporting recommend not using “committed,” which sounds like a crime or, to religious communities, like a sin, and “kill yourself” is just insensitive, crude, and poorly phrased. “Died by suicide” is the phrasing recommended by mental health professionals and the American Foundation…
That’s what I was thinking. Communism has issues in practice, but the theory of it sure got some shit right.
if students are in a situation where they can’t pay for lunch, they’re given one slice of american cheese on a hamburger bun along with a small milk.
Yeah, even public schools ban PB, and a few even say you can’t give your kids peanut butter for breakfast before school. I look around at the store a lot, since money is really tight right now, and found that alternate spreads cost three times as much and you get 1/2 to 2/3 as much spread.
COMMIE BASTARD OPINION ALERT:
I mean... I don’t really think a cheese sandwich and a carton of milk is a reasonable alternative even if the kids did just forget their money. That’s not enough food, that’s not a very nutritious meal (I know school lunches often aren’t but I WANT THEM TO BE), and that’s punishing the kid by making them by…
At the first school I taught, the kids ate. Period. When 93% are on free or reduced lunch, an unpaid bill is not important. At the second school, where I was an administrator? It was private and Catholic and holy fucking shit, they did not care. Unpaid bill? Kid suffers. And no one, NO ONE, gave a shit. And there were…
If DC has to accept Fairfax and Hyattsville as “suburban DC” (and we do), Denver has to accept Aurora. Come on, now.
This shit would never happen in Arvada!
The school district is making it sound like it was kids who just forgot lunch money, in which case the “We’ll give you three for free, and then you’ll get a cheese sandwich so you don’t starve” seems reasonable (we used to have to take out an IOU, literally, if we forgot our lunch money).
My bible skills are a little rusty, but I think it was in the Gospel of Matthew where Jesus said “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink...”
The numbers were similar for my area, and boy, did it suck for the many parents who were just above that 45k line.
I really really hate these kinds of stories. Wouldn’t it be better all around for kids to be fed and able to learn instead of shamed and/or starving?
