My Fleetwood cadillac had little red bulbs on the interior headliner that faced forward so you could see them in the rear view mirror. They would light up if the brake lights were working. If one stopped, the interior red “dome lights” would not illuminate. Pretty trick!
Some cars do tell you that information. The problem is people can’t be bothered to fix it.
