This is what my 10 year old son and I will look like after a long weekend of hanging out at home, eating leftovers and not showering or brushing our hair...but I promised him that we could have a chill out weekend, and that's how he defines it. Sigh.

This guy is a literary superstar in the UK (and, coincidentallyhmmmmm, son of Kingsley Amis). His worldview is distorted to say the least, and his books UNREADABLE. You hear me, Martin? Thats right. Nobody READs your books.

@SocialAnimal: Thanks for the tip...I have actually gotten a lot of online support in the past through lj and a defunct message board called hipMama, but I agree that people can be cruel, and we have ot be careful out there.

Obviously society just isn't working hard enough to bring this issue to us fatties' attention...I look forward to to more helpful interventions from family and friends.

@rah29: Can I just say I love you for this? I spent a lot of time in the UK, and studied communications over there. The story of the early newpapers is fascinating.
