Isn’t this just No Man’s Sky? That had a rough start but now it’s a solid, great game that’s still getting interesting updates and improvements to this day.

The main character is cringy because he needs to grow up and find his place, and don’t forget it’s intended to be a kid’s show. As others are saying, it gets better as it goes.
