Admittedly, if for some (unaccountable and possibly insane) reason, you could actually make a go-kart for the street:

Ok, I’ll bite. My brother’s twin cam Lotus Super 7 was pretty darned close. When I dial up the shocks on my Mini (not MINI) for autocross, it's pretty close, as well. First generation Elise (111), maybe pretty cart-like. Tuned Ginetta G4 with track package suspension is really close. The closest for me was a 67 Cooper

First thing that popped in my brain was Roadkills’ C4 Corvette-Kart ..I love this thing

Such a fun little car.

I’ve never driven a car with no suspension and a penchant for snap oversteer, but this bad boy right here corners like it’s on rails!

Any car with rwd and a spool.

The Roadkill Corvette.

Not surprised at all..

...Preferably one that can tow a trailer since you’ll be needing it.

C5 Z06 These can be picked up all day under 30K. Fairly cheap, reliable, track ready DD.

Plenty of early Vipers can be found for under $30k. Nothing will break as many necks. Sure you could have a clean C5 Z06, or an STI, or an M5 V10..but Viper.

4G Honda Civic. 4-wheel independent suspension all around: unequal-length control arm (a.k.a. “double wishbone”) in the front with multi-link trailing arms at the rear (also called “double wishbone” by Honda marketing, for some reason). All this meant the bouncy bits (coil-over shocks at all four corners) weren’t

“Sweet Rat Rod Bro” :)

Is that a hit and miss engine?

engine placement that far infront of the wheels makes it handle like an audi!

I was just as surprised that there was such a mint ‘77 Suburban in Germany at all than I was to see it on the ‘Ring.

Tommy Kendall’s Cobra in the ‘97 Trans-Am season. The same car won the ‘96 championship and was carried over for the ‘97 season. During the ‘97 season the car went on to dominate, winning 11 of the 13 races and the championship.
