This is interesting. The fire would have been a big factor. Adhesives are very common now in bodywork. Almost a requirement with aluminum panels.

Motorsports!
I just picked up the base ILX. Great engine and good transmission. Good shocks and springs. Needs some more bar in the rear. I hit 3200 miles today and it’s scheduled for an oil change Monday. I’m having the trans flushed as well as I can’t stand the thought of break-in nano materials swirling around for the next…
I love the beautiful simplicity of the controls.
Keep digging buddy. C4 wasn’t a Unit body either. You realize that the C5 and C6 chassis are nearly identical right? In fact, when the C6 came out, journalists were calling it the C5.5
I’ve owned both and they are completely different. Not even the same galaxy. C4 is garbage relatively speaking. And yes C5z interior is yuck. That’s where the similarities end. Pray-tell where are you getting your info? Venture onto Corvetteforum/roadrace and learn before spouting misinformation to others.
Ahem. Hydroformed chassis. Ls1. Transaxle. Geometry that is still used today.
I just had the opportunity to autocross this at Super Summit last month. Your impressions are similar to mine.
God Speed.
I’m ok with that!
Science.....Christianity....ISIS ......................It’s a straight line between them....check the box next to the one you identify most with....
Or fucktards.....
I like it!
Henry at the Powerplant is a good friend of mine for many years. He actually helped me find the car. We’re talking Shrick cams until the engine has to come apart otherwise. There is a place in Germany that does tunes that he favors. Going with a standalone would solve so many problems though, but would want to keep it…
Great story. Always liked the 850i 6 speed and found a nice 850Ci 6 speed. One of 105 brought into the U.S. and not the CSI. The engine makes a nice sound....increasingly rare. Exhaust and the rev limiter are constricted though.
well said. What would a competition look like for Driver Engaement? Sound, mechanical connection, scarriness..... Sure, we don’t want to die, but there must be something in the middle.
Loved my Sparco Evos. Kirkey Containment seats...errr. Good piece. Hope to not ever need them, but appreciate the sanctioning bodies keeping racers heads attached.
I completely agree about Seneca’s Rock 4 statement. This is the reality of racing and I don’t mind it a bit that it’s a thinly veiled reason for kids to take their Dad’s to the movies.
It was always a very masculine design. The SL600 just exudes presense at a stoplight. I think it and the BMW 850 are similar in that way although it’s a bit more of a hotrod.
It will be rebuilt.
