This. Also, I’ve never been on a road trip (especially through parts unknown) and thought to myself: “You know what I absolutely need right now? New brake fluid.”

Totally. On the other hand I’ve been trying to find a Touring XT and they basically don’t exist in inventory.

Don’t get disappointed because someone tells you whatever you drive / like / are into is dumb or wrong. The automotive community likes to gatekeep and look down on literally everything. If you like your car and it brings you enjoyment, it’s okay to be excited by it.

On top of low supply, the cars that dealers are getting tend to all be the same trim line. You can get any Outback you want right now as long as you want a Wilderness.

I’m not necessarily defending Tesla here, but the quality control and fit & finish of just about every auto has gone into the toilet for this year. Just like new home builds. Just like most consumer electronics. Just like most restaurant quality control. Just like….

I can only speak for the half-dozen or so states I’ve lived and worked in, but for most of them anything over 20 or 25 years is exempt from everything.

Soft is good, but I prefer something a bit slimmer. Some of us can’t handle really thick ones ;)

That’s cool, I’ll make sure to research for my next purchase. Thanks!

Conceivably most off lease cars that go back to their home brand can be “certified”, allowing one of those dealers to sell it at a higher price and profit margin. Therefore you’d think that the home brand dealer would almost always offer a better buyout than a third party. I realize that’s not how the world works, but

Depending on your state, a title lien may or may not be public record - for example, in PA they’re only recorded at the DMV and wouldn’t show up for the general public to see. Essentially it’s another loan but if the second dealership doesn’t report that loan to a credit agency, they wouldn’t know. It’s still an

You piqued my interest. I always opted for the soft cover not because it was cheaper, but because it was easier to deal with than a hard folding cover, especially if you don’t have a garage to store the hard cover when you need it off. What thoughts are I not thinking?  I may have to reconsider in the future because

It’s funny you say that. I want a Maverick as an alternative to a Civic - essentially i see the Maverick as a sedan with a more flexible trunk (when equipped with a cover). People comparing it to a TRUCK are missing the appeal to a lot of buyers.

The hybrid wasn’t supposed to be part of dealer stock anywhere, so it showing up in your search is either dealers coding it wrong or something odd happened…I guess they could have been orders whose buyer backed out.

Just watch out for ice storms between OKC and ABQ. Any snow or ice of any type or amount, especially in the east mountains, is no joke.

The drive through AR isn’t bad unless there’s roadwork or an accident. There is NOWHERE to get off I40 and circumvent a crash. It took me like 9 hours one time to drive through Arkansas and it was awful.

This may be one of the cheapest Boxsters on the market right now. Porsche prices are acting whack, yo. A Boxster under $10k that’s in decent shape inside and out and isn’t in pieces is an automatic NP.

Especially when they’re from…ugh…Jersey.

1000x this. In most scenarios I only need like 20 miles of range. But a few times a month I have to go pick up my kid and take him to soccer games, which is easily 70+ miles each (way with no chargers), and five or six times a year I do 400-mile-one-way road-trips.  Being able to rent an extra battery for just those

I got rid of my Mk7 Sportwagen because I couldn’t stand the seats any longer. Really regret that decision, a pillow would have been a better choice.

What’s wild to me is that just about any car dealer, anywhere, can register your car for you in your home state. I’ve purchased cars from 1000 miles away and the dealership could do TTL for me and the registration would should up a few weeks later. There’s no excuse Carvana can’t get their act together except for
