My gf is actually looking for an Ascent in the Midwest, they don't seem to be exceptionally flexible with discounts (about $3k or so, max). Any region that’s pricing the cars more attractively?

Life is the inevitable march toward death. Some days suck harder than others. The little things, like watching my dogs playing together in the yard, make this awful existence bearable.

The dealership definitely still used them when I bought a new car in 2016...

All of the people you quoted sound fucking insufferable (the ones making the comments, not their SOs). I like to think myself as being able to live with anyone, as I’ve had some pretty awful and lazy roommates / gfs, but the self-righteousness of being upset by a cup?  Get over yourself.

What’s the term for “never buys anything new because it’s a waste of money”, cause that’s me.

Yeah, I don’t get it either. My local pizza place does their own delivery; you can order online just like these apps and it all works seamlessly. There’s a few small fees, and I’m sure the company running the website takes a percentage, but it’s got to be less than 2/3s like in the example.

I can’t imagine any rational person would want to go clothes shopping any time soon...especially in a department store like Macy’s, where all their junk is shoved onto racks that are about 6” away from each other.

I’m going to comment on LW1, since those people who are funnier than me have really gone to town on the second one.

It’s a great car, but overpriced by about $1500. For $3500, you can get a 01-09 Outback, which is greatly superior.

Except that it’s often just as easy to dig yourself out of a grave as dig yourself out of debt. Long reaching debt can be crushing to your life for the next 20, 30, 40 years. Many people feel like it’s worth the risk to themselves and others vs. decades of economic collapse, hunger, and homelessness. Honestly, I don’t

Not too soon.

I test drove three different GSs before I ended up buying a 535. I really, really wanted to like them because of all of the reasons you mentioned. It just...was lame. Boring. It felt old and it drove like it was old, especially in AWD guise.

Idk, man. The GX is really a “high-aspiration” car for most of the upper middle class women I know.  “Everybody” has a RX, and they don’t want to stand out enough to buy a Range Rover.

Based on traffic studies, speed limits should be set at around the 85th percentile speed - that is, the speed that 85% of vehicles are traveling. Wouldn’t it be sweet if this was actually true AND the speed limits were fluid based on actual traffic speed?

“Request Desktop Site” usually works

I like my Manhattans shaken (gently), too. People can be wrong but still like what they like.

Can something die if it never truly lived?

It’s hard to find good condition 968s, since they were so unloved for so long. They’re either neglected or well-maintained but have seen a ton of miles. This is really the perfect condition with the perfect amount of miles.

Sorry for your loss, especially with everything that’s going on.

Here’s the interesting thing: the IRS (usually) knows when you die, because SSA (usually) knows when you die. That info comes over basically in real time (roughly 4 weeks, which is just about real time in government world). Point being: there’s no excuse for corona credits to be going to corpses except for somebody
