I always kinda wondered if maybe the general public just... doesn’t know the names/codenames of these people. Obviously at some point it becomes common knowledge (“Rogers: The Musical” has a lot of weirdly specific information in it), but early on maybe all they knew for sure was there was a big green guy running

Yeah, I think Marvel recognizes that a lot of those shows have fans so they haven’t wanted to outright say “these characters aren’t canon” but I also think it’s pretty clear they never want to officially make those shows canon either, which is why I see them as sitting in a weird limbo.

I had completely forgotten about that plot in Agents of SHIELD and then after the first episode of Secret Invasion I randomly jumped into the first episode of AoS and YUP there’s something about an implant that more or less gives people Extremis powers.

Yeah I wonder if we’ll get much detail on how it connects to AIM. We see Gaia (sp?) looking at a computer that lists all the different DNA samples / power sources they are working with but no idea of how they got them. (Like, how did they get Groot’s sample? Just pick up random twigs in Wakanda and hope one of them is

Yeah the thing with the kid makes no sense because it sure seems like that’s supposed to be the human guy’s kid and (to your point) the skrull Bob shouldn’t care about him.

I was also very confused about the relationship between “Fairbanks” skrull and the kid. Fury uses the kid as a hostage to get the Fairbanks skrull to release Talos, but like...if it’s the real kid, why would the skrull care? They want to annihilate all humans anyway. If they replaced the entire family with skrulls,

Anyone notice how Gravik’s healing factor looked a lot like the Extremis effect in Iron Man 3? Not sure if that will be significant or not.

Aggressively engaging with someone in a situation that is escalating while knowing that you’re armed and willing to shoot should absolutely be enough to create culpability. Would he have gotten out of the car and continued the interaction if he didn’t have a gun? Obviously, the only person who knows the answer to that

Yikes, Madonna, get well soon.

The suits covering for any ‘feminist’ connection. The company sounds worried about possible right wing social commenters complaining about the ‘woke’ representation.

You know, I’ve never thought about it, but Ferris probably grew up to be this exact kind of executive.

It’s funny because a joke in the trailer suggests Ken very much doesn’t know how to fuck.

Crazy how Zemeckis was one of the great American directors of the ‘80s and then he became obsessed with his CGI wax museums.

Where the hell is Romancing the Stone (and its sequel)? As far as Indy imitators go, it’s not only the first out of the gate, but it was also very influential in its own right. Half the adventure movies on this list steals its its romance dynamic.

Just watched here in NZ, grinning the entire damn time and I can’t wait to watch again with the pause button when it comes to digital

Dear Mr. President,

“[Fox executives] also wanted to concentrate on the younger pilots, who didn’t have as much to do with the original Independence Day,” Devlin said. “They thought that young people wouldn’t want to watch Jeff Goldblum, which I thought was crazy”

I felt this way about Pan’s Labyrinth. Gorgeously shot, dark as HELL, even more viscerally violent than I was expecting. Glad I saw it, never again.

Still waiting on the beany babies to peak in value
