Ever notice that the cable “education” channels that were touted as a market-driven replacement for PBS like History, Discovery, TLC. etc. have all turned in to homes for crappy reality shows, conspiracy theories and pseudoscience? I guess that pays better than boring old facts and science. 

Where do you think the “native population” of Hawaii currently works?  Do you think the economy of the islands will magically transform into a tech hub if people stop going there for vacations?  Tourism and the service industry are pretty major parts of the economy all around the world, not just in tropical locations,…

This sucks. And hurts. My father loved Clapton. Worshiped at his alter of guitar playing to the point of handcrafting his own amp to duplicate the amp Clapton used on the legendary John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers album. Owned multiple Strats, of course. Could play pretty much any Clapton solo note for note.

I felt this site was getting stupid and trolly in the comments section lately. Although a lot of his fans seems to have run here to defend their moron overlord aggressively. 

I’m both shocked and disappointed by the apparently large overlap between AV Club Commentariat and Joe Rogan defenders.

The best description I ever heard of Joe Rogan is that he’s like a time-traveling 18th century European emperor. He’s incredibly demanding of his guests and asks a bazillion entitled questions, but he’s also massively gullible and immediately believes literally anything they tell him.

I agree. I’ve tried very hard to be a Foo Fighters fan. I do enjoy a lot of their singles, but they just don’t do it for me. It’s a shame, because I pretty much live rock music, and Dave Grohl seems like a truly good dude, he’s definitely a true believer.

It’s because these people are too stupid to comprehend what they are doing. It has gotten to the point where it’s no longer amusing or frustrating to witness because they are just too far gone. They don’t get it and they never will. They will just continue going on and living their simple, angry lives no matter what.

Briarpatch was a perfectly decent show that never lived up to the star power of the folks involved. Rosario Dawson! Kim Dickens! Alan Cumming! Sam Esmail producing! It was mostly OK!
