Here in PA, diesels arent even emissions tested lol. OBD-2 Cars technically arent here so this “issue” really isnt an issue unless you use a sniffer on the car. It makes you wonder how many cars in general are running better or worse then advertised.... I dont really care. It will never be an issue here.

Absolutely. Turbos just blew faster because of the added heat. 7MGE's blew As well. That same issue struck the 3VZ-E and the 3VZ-FE as well. Shitty headgaskets and low torque spec numbers. So that's pretty much most of toyotas 6 cylinder line up from the late 80's and early 90's.

DB7 and the Grandsport are absolute shit. There's no nice way of putting that. Drive one and you'll understand. I did for two years. I can't get that part of my life back.

Come on man... First day? lol 97-01 Camry V6 5 speeds, 99-02 Solara v6 5 speeds are FAR more plentiful then the 92-93 Camry V6/ES300 5speeds of earlier. But the best part is, All the same suspension, same reliability, just a different motor.

However, when you talked about putting a long extension down cylinder one to double check TDC, I hope you used cylinder 2 just as a photo reference since on the 3VZ, even cylinders are in front and odd cylinders are out back. That goes for any toyota V6 actually.

Honestly For less then 20K or even less then 5K cant beat a Gen 3 Camry with a stick. I'm on my 3rd because I can sell them and buy another with better options then the last. IMO probably one of the best older used cars to buy.

Philly will tear that little F360 up. I'd say your best bet might be a Bentley or a Audi R8. Something AWD and can handle some serious snow. And bring some snow tires with you.
