Still not suspicious, if it was purchased by option contract, that’s when it would be cheapest, I think

I’m one who believes that we are getting better and weeding out these bad apples (they’ll always exist because people are naturally trying to take advantage of others). I have faith in this administration trying to call those out for this wrong behavior and holding them accountable better than any previous

I suspect the contract will be re-opened. And, in light of, ahem, updated specifications in the Request For Proposal by the Biden Administration, Oshkosh is either going to come up with a program to electrify its fleet tout de suite, or another vendor who can supply EV postal units will. Like 3-5 years from now.

It wouldn’t be suspicious if the trade wasn’t timed for when it was and at the volume it was.

How hard would it be to figure out who bought this and tie them (or not) to insider knowledge?

“Ohhh... my guy messed up. He was supposed to actually put all that money into OshKosh B’Gosh, the children’s clothing store. Not Oshkosh the defence contractor.”

Eh.

I would guess... 100%.

Pure coincidence, I’m sure.

Oh no. There will be plenty of billings by white-shoe Washington law firms, tying up this contract award up in red tape.

Exactly, all fines applies by the SEC are almost irrelevant compared to the potential money you can make with illegal security trading.

This seems rather fishy. Especially based on the idea that the provided prototypes are ICE yet there is the push for an all EV fleet.

I’ll take that bet. I imagine there will be something like a $500 fine and a written promise to try to not do it again so blatantly.

Considering how DeJoy, a Donald appointee, tried his damnedest to eff-up the Postal Service so to jam up mailed-in votes; what are the odds him or another Repub flunky got the word out to buds that it was Oshkosh b’gosh? You know: to be that blatantly corrupt? (Even kickbacks?)  I put the odds at 95%.

I’ll bet anyone here right now there will be ZERO consequences to this most illegal and inside act. Our government oligarchs, corrupt to the core.

Nothing to see here...

While I agree that it’s unrealistic to ask Porsche to do entry-level cars, I’m not certain I agree with it being comparable. Porsche is one brand within a multibillion conglomerate. There are entry-level Porsches, we just call them Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda. Harley Davidson, in comparison, is the only thing they’ve

Counter counter point, The scrambler really isn’t low cost or entry level. It’s cheapest bike is 8k +destination. That is within a stones throw from a Monster 797+. I expect that’s one of the lowest, if not the lowest, selling model of the Scrambler (and every other scrambler is more than the 797+)

It’s that, and also the quintessential mid-life crisis purchase: 40-ish-year-old dad is getting prepared to live his best life once the kids go off to college. He bought a matching hip leather jacket, and a matte black open-face helmet.
