When I think of Matamoros I think of Spring Break and cheap Corona 20-packs in beat up recycled bottles.

When I hear Matamoros I think of the Mexican city in Tamaulipas, across from Brownsville, TX.

I have been there to buy cheap 20-packs of Corona beer in beat-up recycled bottles as a Padre Island Spring Break tradition.

That video didn’t have any Mexicans. I’m somewhat perplexed.

Interesting that there are few enough of these planes that individuals can remember working on them.

I guess it will remain on the list of aircraft I have never flown in. By far the bulk of my travels were on 737s and MD-11s, with the occasional Embraer ERJ thrown in, from Houston to New Orleans, Mobile, Birmingham, Atlanta, etc.

Last time I was on the Big Island of Hawaii I drove a rented Jeep Wrangler from Hilo down to the Volcanoes National Park.

I can’t say much about the driving dynamics of the Jeep but I did split my lip by running into the back of a sign in the lava-induced blackness as the park was closing at sunset.

Brand new cars: Rental car companies need to renew their fleets. Company cars (which are almost all leased) need to be changed.
Used cars: And sometimes people get into accidents and need a new (used) car.

No A/C in Houston makes it a CP no matter what condition it’s in.
