Yeah, I also refuse to lie to my kids. People FREAK OUT when I say we don’t do the Santa thing. Look, my kids aren’t going to tell your kid that you’re bullshitting them, so how about minding your own business?

For the uninitiated, the book—which is a relatively short 28 pages
Yup, I know this first hand from being bullied in childhood. On top of being disenfranchised, you are always watched. People may not talk to you, but they are always examining you, judging you in the most negative light and talking to each other. I’m not sure which part of it is worse.
“The action of othering people actively is so damaging”
Yes! That is Otis. He is a beagle/yellow lab/God knows what else rescue. We love the fur off of that boy! Tonight I put the Grinch doggie antler on him and he was so offended. Here is otis, in all of his pissed offness.
Oh, right, it’s already Saturday.
Is it bad that if I were ranking the 4 women in the cover photo in order of who id most like to see as the next president Hillary came in fourth?
The episode of Parks where she meets Michelle Obama or Biden? That’d be me meeting Amy.
The FrenBragemies?
Probably something like this...
Ah Christmas cards with kids... the Yuletide humblebrag.
All the stars for you today!
As a child my mother was in Florida and saw signs for ‘white’ and ‘colored’ water fountains. Well being a little girl she assumed that you could drink boring white water or pretty colored water, so she went over to the ‘colored’ fountain. That went over spectacularly poorly with the people of Florida.
I came here to gush on this very subject and am glad I’m not alone.
Thank you! We are currently in a much better place. I got remarried a few weeks ago to a wonderful man who is great to my daughter. But I will always have painful and bittersweet memories of my first love, and she will always miss her dad.
I think it’s so important for kids (and adults...) to learn and remember that no one is perfect. Some people make worse mistakes than others, and some really horrible people can be nice to hang out with. Just because someone is nice doesn’t mean that they can’t be awful, and just because someone did something bad…
Well, duh. Rape is bad, rapists are bad, they call their mom on Mother’s Day, so they’re not bad, ergo what they do is not rape. /sarcasm
Thank you. I’m still working towards divorce, but I will get there.
