This is a beautiful car, I would like to see more old rally cars detuned and put back into street use. I currently have an old SCCA rally car that I’m trying to get back into competition spec and it is indeed an uphill battle.

a true human interest story.
Cool build. Not one picture of the engine or video of it doing rally stuff? This needs a follow-up story. Good luck to him, looks like fun!
We need a video test drive when that thing is completed. Looks amazing!!!
Be still, my restless heart
OK that thing is GLORIOUS.
It’s like a chihuahua with rabies
Read it - Clicked on the story coming in ready to say this is maybe the dumbest thing I’ve seen someone waste time on. Blew my mind…love it…god what a fun little thing.
Obviously the opposite of the “yes” switch he has on there too.
Sweet...great job!
More refined? Sure. More practical? I mean this one has a roof. And windshield wipers. And you can probably fit several things in it. That all sounds rather more practical to me.
As a Kp-61 Starlet owner and father of two under 6. I approve of this.
I can’t imagine this car with a more powerful engine and better tires.
Battery cutoff maybe?
I was thinking Starlet as well. I always thought a performance build on one of those would be a hoot!
Looks pretty cool & I’m sure I can barely appreciate the amount of effort in this frankencar, but wouldn’t an Ariel Atom be a more practical daily driver? 😁
I came into this article “wait, the first gen Tercel was RWD” and realized, no, it was the Starlet, an even smaller Toy(ota) that was RWD.
What a lovely beast. Be still my heart.
This is the content I’m here for. Awesome build, great article!
