Every time I see him, I remember his segment on Candy Crush and laugh quite a bit.

I think my favorite moment in the episode was when Sloan was showing off her new computer to someone (Don, I think?), and he said "That's great, but do you have ANY IDEA what's going on outside your door?" and her reaction was to immediately turn back to check the computer.
Not a fan of either team from last night, and I've definitely noticed the refs doing it with some frequency. It kinda bothered me then, though, for the same reasons everyone is talking about it now.
I actually mused whether the Pats should've gone for two on their last touchdown. The worst case is still probably overtime, but the upside is making it a two-possession game.
I would imagine, but I can't believe it would be close to what CBS and Fox give them for the yearly package of Sunday afternoon games. And if I were one of those networks, I'd be pretty angry that the NFL is potentially undercutting my revenue stream with this additional offering.
Eh, she's more of a marriage manager. She's not gonna rack up the anniversaries on her own, but surround her with a quality home and some All Pro children, and she'll be just fine.
If it helps, I went with the Ravens, and as a Cincinnati fan, I have almost as strong a desire for your Falcons to win as you do.
I'm kind of amazed that the league allows the non-Sunday Ticket version of the RedZone channel to exist. I mean, they're removing advertising from their product, which is how a significant portion of their revenue is generated.
There's also the scene in The Wrestler where the kid talks about Call of Duty for like five minutes, but in a totally organic and relevant way. I still have no idea if that was paid placement or not.
I remember like five or so years ago, when someone on the Titans (Finnegan, I think.. did he ever return punts?) tried to draw a flag by waving for a fair catch as soon as the punt was kicked, then waiting to be hit. It was bizarre and, fortunately, unsuccessful.
46 definitely seems too high of an O/U for CIN-at-NE. This has 17-14 written all over it.
Yeah, my AVClub login of ToddG predated disqus, and when disqus arrived, ToddG was unavailable as a login there, so I used my twitter handle instead and just changed my display name back. Obviously and also not surprisingly, Disqus seems unable to gracefully handle this situation.
No problem. I actually did a bit more research and found an article on Forbes from February of this year, claiming that stripping the league of its exempt status wouldn't even change anything, as the tax-exempt branch of the league repeatedly reports an 8-figure loss due to some creative financing. Even more…
The vast majority of that $6 bil passes through the league to the teams, where it is taxed as profits are for any other comparable corporation. It's not as if none of the NFL revenue is taxed, it's just that the money expended collectively by the 32 teams to run the league office isn't. And as I said above, this…
I appreciate your second-paragraph disclaimer. I share many of your misgivings, but until my Bengals stop looking like world-beaters, I'm not going anywhere.
Games between two west-coast teams are usually aired later for the convenience of their prevailing audience.
Only the league office has nonprofit status, and a lot of its income goes back out as salaries, which are, of course, subject to personal income tax. Look, I hate the league office as much as the next guy, but conflating team profits with the office's tax exempt status is simply misleading. It's not some sweetheart…
At least they picked the correct BB episode for Outstanding Writing.
It's especially noteworthy because it's used in the sexual sense. (ie, not just a "fuck you" or "this fuckin' guy", uses which the MPAA generally allows in PG-13 films once per.)
Right, like shooting at the ground would've had a significantly different effect.
