Season Six
Maybe it's just because you guys severely lowered my expectations for the fairly substantial portion of this season that I hadn't seen before, but I'm really enjoying it.

Nah, it's fair, you got me. Actually, though, upon further review I think he said "I kept a low profile!"

Also, "Bill, look how discrete I was! IT'S THAT GUY! OVER THERE! WITH THE PHONE!"

You may say I'm splitting hairs (and, honestly, I wouldn't really argue), but I think it's her interactions with Walt that are funny more than Skylar herself, ie I was laughing as much at Walt's reactions in that scene as at her. She doesn't have the pizza-on-the-roof or shoot-the-guy-through-the-wall moments that

Doesn't sound like it puzzles you THAT much, Scrawler. I think you are absolutely correct. I would also add that she is rarely if ever funny.

Have her actually watch an episode of Mad Men and then specifically exempt it from this condemnation.

I still think a show following an Academy class could be great.

Oh, absolutely. I just found it funny that we could accurately call a season "short", with it being 50% longer than most cable seasons these days.

That "short" first season was still 20 episodes.

I mean, yeah, sometimes we assume that time passes, but we assume that nothing important happened in the interim. Picard beginning a serious relationship after six seasons of not doing that would be an event significant enough that, were it to be narratively skipped over, it would cause the viewer to assume something

Now I really want to hear a solo flute cover of Drowning Pool.

That would be jarring as hell. I can see having them meet several episodes previously and make their relationship more of a slow burn, but then that would be a problem with the syndicated nature of the series.

Also, was it just me, or did it look like somebody else was holding the flute while Picard played it in a few of those shots?

I'm not sure that's true, Windy. He's so rarely played as out of his element in this fashion that I don't think it's fair to have any expectations at all for how he'd act.

Yeah, that bugged me, too. I kept waiting for her to be like "Good catch, but really I just screwed up that chord."

@insert Wait, you're claiming that stealing the apples would be ok in that scenario?

Well, no, he had to know about it, because he was telling her that it had been five hours and to stop waiting for the call.

I did not, but probably should've. It's so hard to tell on this show what's comedic and what's sinister, and what's both.

Walt and Skyler
I thought Walt was upset that her decreasing her offer would arouse suspicion, that maybe she knew about the "failed inspection."

I hadn't seen the director's cut until recently and, wow, what a difference it makes. And I was something of a fan of Alien 3 to begin with.
