This. I agree that there are way too many folks bringing full sized luggage on board as “carryons” but I have lost so much luggage through checking my bags and it doesn’t matter what airline I’m flying either.

So true, if I hear one more smarmy “well I’ve got to get little hashtag to violin practice so I’m leaving early and you can finish the big project due at 5am tomorrow because you’re childless right?” I will hit someone.

That’s because we don’t acknowledge that particular horror.

Jezzies! I need some advice. Has anyone moved across the country for a job? Were you able to scout out a place to live ahead of time or did you wait until you got there and stayed in some sort of temporary living? How did you move your stuff?

Ha. My dad only has two kids and two grandkids. I still found a list in his phone with everyone’s full name and birth dates.

You know. This is a good idea. ( I mean clearly you know, I’m just surprised more folks don’t do this as a side thing).

Seriously taxes. Why is getting out of high school with no idea how to do taxes a thing. Especially when at 18 (depending on your situation) you may really have to start filing them. I do not understand how this isn’t covered. Like I can sort of believe that people think budgeting is an individual thing. But taxes?…

Oh no my boss went off on me in a spectacular fashion once when I worked an 8 hour day instead of an 8.5 hour day. This was when I first started there and had no idea that I couldn’t work through lunch. She kept screaming about how that was illegal and I was trying to get her in trouble with the government.

YES! THEY ASK YOU ABOUT WORK AT LUNCH! Sorry for yelling but if I have to take that time off and not be paid you shouldn’t be able to ask me about work during my “unpaid” time. Especially since it’s always my boss that wants to talk to me about work during lunch.

Ugh. I hate this. I’m hourly right now. We’re mandated to take the break. Fine, but then I have to make up that time. I would rather eat at my desk and leave earlier. I need to get a non hourly job.

Oh man I had a study abroad roommate do this the day before we were supposed to leave. Watching her try and walk through the airport is forever imprinted in my brain.

Aw thanks. I’m actually considering going back for an M.ed. I already have an M.A. Can’t quite convince myself that a PhD is worth the amount of years in school. I admire anyone who can do the straight through route. That’s a lot of dedication.

I applied to 14. It was nuts, I don’t recommend it, but I did get in to most of the schools. For the second round of grad school I’m only considering 2.

Sigh.
