When your argument relies on actively misunderstanding or misrepresenting the language being used by other people, it is not parsing or legalese for those people to explain how and why that’s the case. It’s frustrating, I know—or, rather, I imagine it probably would be if I were the type of person to make such

Actually, what I said is that Klobuchar is the only one trying...

I mean, Warren still has a shot, but last night wasn’t a great night for her. And I know the low bar Biden has been able to set for himself is comical, but it really was a pretty good night for him. For the most part, he looked more like the guy I kind of expected him to be from the start—from my memories of him when

I’ve spoken all that I plan to speak on the subject of Tulsi Gabbard. You’re welcome to try to make me join an argument on that topic, but I’m just going to vote present and move on.

Not really, no.

It’s not the lighting. She’s wearing a black dress while laying on a white bed. The bed isn’t keying much darker than it is, nor is the dress keying lighter. This is quite clearly an instance in which she was either made up to look much darker than she is in real life. Or it was done to her image after the fact.

I mean, I’m not really with any team. I just think the fundraising small-donor pledges are really easy to make when you are one of the most prominent candidates in a national race. I mean, Sanders already had a national organization and Warren was nationally prominent and had been preparing for this run for, really,

As I noted, the hypocritical tag doesn’t come from the text of the article. Buttigieg pointed out that Warren had gifted herself funds from her senate fundraising cache, which she collected prior to her Come to Jesus small donor pledge. That is, she has not only collected from large donors in the past--she’s used that

I think that interchange is going to be what people remember from Warren last night, and that because of that, she’s probably going to be seen as having at best a kind of so-so night. Buttigieg’s “I’m the only one who isn’t a millionaire/billionaire” line is a pretty good one, but the line that hurt Warren in that

Saying there’s more than two of something doesn’t make that designation illegitimate or mutable/changeable. Again, I understand the skepticism about people who push back at all against the world as you wish it were. All I’m saying is the world doesn’t always respond to what you think it should be just because that way

I don’t presume to educate you. Your position is fundamentally a philosophical one, which I don’t have a problem with. I think I get. When science is reductive or restrictive (or if it can even be reasonably perceived to be so), it can be misused by people who wish to confine or oppress. Nobody likes science more than

This is getting into semantics and pedantry, both of which (unfortunately) are right in my wheelhouse, but “physical sex” isn’t really a thing. Biological sex is (It is not as simple as XX/XY, but it is a thing). There are physical and physiological manifestations/indications of your biological sex, but those things

I don’t know if it’s a “both sides are wrong dynamic or not,” but biological sex is a thing. And that thing is immutable. Now, there are any number of options for a person who identifies as transgender to alter their body chemistry and physiology if they wish to do so. This is what we used to call a “sex change” but

I was watching live. I just don’t get how those people could be so dumb to force Pelosi into that moment. They knew how they were supposed to behave. But they still have such little self-control that they couldn’t just sit on their hands...

I’m just not sure what scenario people are envisioning that leads to Sanders suddenly catching fire. Who is sitting around supporting somebody else or supporting nobody else but is leaning to Sanders?

I considered the inverse. I considered it poor strategy. Before Biden was in the race, Sanders topped out at about 22-25 percent. Since Biden got into the race, he’s lived in the mid to upper teens.

The point you’re missing is that by splitting the votes, neither has the votes to win. Biden’s not just sitting on his double-digit lead over the two of them. Biden’s most likely sitting on the lion’s share of the last-minute voters who don’t want to vote for any of the three of them.

Which polls? All of them? Sanders has been trailing Biden by an average of double digits since Biden got into the race. These two were the most well-known candidates at the start, and they remain that now—although Warren has definitely asserted herself into the trinity.

IANAL, but I think premeditated assault is still just simple assault in most states. Aggravating factors are things like whether and what kind of weapon you used and/or how defenseless the victim is (e.g., even if you think they really deserve it, it’s probably not a wise decision to beat up an old or infirm person).
