Agreed! I've only managed to get mt AW11 to swap ends once and that was under extreme, deliberate provocation in the wet.

So what?? I have "Toyota Car Club" on the rear window of my Nissan Pathfinder. Why? I use it to tow my AW11 MR2 to the track.

That was a Mazda Roadpacer and it was only sold in Japan. Holden send engine-less Holden Premier 4 door bodies to Japan where they were fitted with the Mazda drivetrain and sold as a Mazda. Google it and you will find info on it.

Now that is a car that I admired but had all but forgotten.

I have a deep lust for one of these.

This Caddy I spotted seems to have had a similar conversion

I agree. Who says it was illegal parking?

I've read both of these books - "Half Safe" and "The Other Half of Half Safe". A mate has owned them both for 30 odd years and has actually met Ben Carlin. Half-safe still exists on display at Ben's old school in Perth. The school trotted it out for an amphibious vehicle show a few years ago. It still drives but

An AW11 MR2 with 4AGE engine is more reliable. 279,000 miles and counting. The biggest problems have been a failed TPS (unplug to keep going) and a leaky oil seal in the dizzy. I've met a few Miata owners who suffered broken cranks and self-loosening front pulley bolts. I've never met an owner who has suffered

My 6yo old son and I received a joint present of the huge Kombi Lego kit. Despite the box saying "16+" my involvement so far as been passing him the correct pieces. He makes me proud.

Anyone can drive from one side of Aus to the other in a normal car now. There is bitumen highway all the way across the Nullarbor. However, if you want to go through the centre, that's harder. But it can be done.

+1 to Russia. From what friends tell me who have driven east of Moscow through Siberia the roads are shocking muddy tracks and there is lots of suicidal trucks using them. Just check out the Russian annual road toll. 30,000 die on the roads every year or something? Then just look at the sheer distance from

Aussies with more than half a brain don't buy locally made cars, because they are crap quality, horribly unreliable when the mileage gets high and depreciate like a safe thrown off a cliff.

Can I say so freaking what? This swap has been done a lot before. I know of at least three similar conversions of WRX engines into a Brumby/Brat. That's only the ones I have seen.

Correction, it might have been a Skoda. (Can't read Slovak and it was several years ago.)

This sexy italian styled Lada that unfortunately never made it beyond the prototype stage.

The Velorex three wheeler. Fabric over a scaffold pole frame.

DB5 says class and taste. People will want to come up and admire it.

We need a photo of her for the Batshit wall.

There was a Miura mouldering away in a front yard in Melbourne in the early part of this century. Grass a foot high around it and a huge 80's brick car phone inside. Both house and car are gone now. I always hoped it went to someone who appreciated what they had.
