The communists didn't make SUV's. Communists made 4x4's that were usable offroad, not pretenders that just looked the part. Please stop labelling all 4x4 vehicles as SUV's, because they aren't.

We had a discussion in the office and most of us would take the C63 because only pretentious assholes drive an M3. To buy one would be social suicide. The only guy who disagreed drives a 330ci, so he's a lost cause.

I drive my Aussie made 74 Superbug 1600L (1303) daily. Purists may not like them I prefer my Beetle to handle and have some boot space.

Aussie an Euro Beetles from 75 onwards had those turn signals too. It was only the US/Canada that missed out.

You only see the good Australian muscle cars. Not the crap six cylinder taxi-pack versions of the same cars that litter our roads.

Holden Commodore VL Group A.

Agreed. I won't be trading my 09 Pathie on this.

We can buy them in Aus.

Yeah, and? I can recall VW doing the same stunt with a Touareg and a 747 a few year ago.

Does a Cushman do 60mph and is it road legal? No? Then it's hardly comparable.

I own a Moke, and I can tell you that a good one can command $15K here in Aus, which is near-as-dammit to $15K US. Remember they are still reasonably easy to find here, because BMC/Leyland Australia produced thousands of them. $20K in the US where they are much more rare is certainly not out of the ball park.

I've had two of these, but both were diesels. The only reason I had two was the first one caught fire while being fixed at the dealer 11 months after purchase and was written off. I can also tell you, they have nowhere near the capability of a Land Cruiser. Never again. (shudder)

I get this. All our cars are RHD here and I lust after LHD cars. Until I think about toll booths and parking garage gates.

A mate photographed a lady changing a baby's nappy while driving back in the 80's.

Yeah, the probably could pay them more. But getting paid 5mill to have that much fun with cars? I bet there is not one person on Jalopnik that wouldn't take that offer!

Actually our Prime Minister rides in a Holden Statesman - the long wheelbase version of the Holden Commodore. Coming to you yanks with less toys as the Chevy Caprice cop car.

Only a true MR2 fan knows what a Frunk is. (I have an AW11) :)

Maybe the frunk floor rusted out and he's doing a Fred Flinstone?

I like your thinking. Holidaying in Europe with my own car has always been a dream of mine.

I am a big fan of epic road trips.
