I only know what I feel watching it. Panic and helplessness. No matter what a woman thinks maybe she might want, subconsciously, plenty of predatory men will take advanatage of that indecision. In the 40s the consequences could be pretty dire. In many states they are now too.

Chaunte is a character created by Derrick Fox (who played her). Lawrence has been accused of stealing the character after attending one of Fox’s shows. You know that Lawrence played Sheneneh?

Her music isn’t for me. It’s bland and weirdly a-tonal and she’s one-note. I don’t see a lot of growth; her songs are for love-lorn teens and young women. As a woman I support women artists, but I don’t love all of them. Her persona is bigger than her talent, but then that’s how one collects fans and stays famous.

Beyonce is the hardest worker in the industry. I doubt if Swift’s father was as difficult a task-master and stage dad as Beyonce’s father was. She had to work hard, make her own luck and be consistently fabulous. She also experiments. You won’t see Swift doing much of that.

Smith will be fine because America adores violence. After experiencing Childish Gambino’s Big Foot Little Foot music video, I’m seeing The Slap and the reaction to it in a whole new way.

He was always back row Jack for some (me). But then I never watched the Bad Boys pics and don’t personally view that ish as elite.

Martin Lawwrence was never funny. I watched his show because there wasn’t much else and I like Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. The best he could do was “make faces”, mugging at the camera like a ten year old. I stopped watching his show because humiliating Campbell for punch lines made me want to punch my tv.

Bland. 

I’m remembering it now. He was a different sort of lead character. I was interested to see where his career would go. Guess I’m a bit disappointed that he ended up on a game show.

A Haymitch prequel sounds great, although I don’t like that title. Wonder who they’ll cast for the movie.
