“This player is soft because, instead of allowing another player to knock him around without consequences, he tagged him back.”

Yes, yes I do. Instead of taking a hard screen like everybody else does, he acted like a little bitch having a hissy fit.

Albert, most sports are a form of controlled violence.

The problem wasn’t just the foul calls, but that the whistle seemed to change after the half. Stuff was getting called that I think they were letting go in the first half. That is exactly the opposite of how you call a game if you’re going to call it tight - call it tight early, everyone knows it’s going to be called

Agreed. Not a fan of either team, and that game was absolutely brutal to watch.

The end was super entertaining if you are a UNC fan and ignore the missed call that cost Gonzaga the game. FWIW I am not a fan of either team, the refs blew the game.

Used to work 8:30-5, which is pretty close. Currently doing a 4x10 schedule so right now I’m not.

Because motor skills are specific to what has been trained.

Which, of course, means that Westbrook is singlehandedly robbing OKC of the chance of grabbing a top-3 pick in a loaded draft, which could go far to mitigate the loss of Kevin Durant a year ago. Has any player done more to cripple the next decade of his team’s development this year than RW? I think not. MVP?

You’re missing the part about the labor laws in the U.S. giving and deserving no respect.

There is no need to change the rule as having a tackle make an offside line would make defense extremely difficult when a player passes out of a tackle.

I think you’re pretty much right. The fact that the England team didn’t just adapt to that is a reflection on them, not the Italians.

It does look to me like they (and Italy) perceived their advantage as being out wide, but it’s strategy 101- if your opponent is better than you at doing something, find a way to stop

I’m actually glad to see it. I hope it stays allowed.

Yes, they should have, but England’s problem was that they couldn’t think outside of the standard rugby paradigm at all. Only after halftime did they realize they could just run straight ahead without bothering with the first pass, somewhat akin to a quarterback keeper with no pesky nose tackle to get in the way.

Am I the only person who thought they should just kick? Screw the pass — if half of the other team is on your side of the ball, a few well-placed kiss-and-chase plays ought to straighten that right the hell out.

Saban’s was worse since he used a player’s death (a Cal player died of health issues on a practice field) to try to close a loophole that was hurting his team.

Eddie Jones is Australian for John Harbaugh.

Exactly like their soccer style: they muck up the game, frustrate the hell out of their opponents, and just generally make it extremely difficult to play against them. It can be annoying to watch, but I’ve always at least respected it.
