I certainly don’t disagree on the construction front - major construction projects (like infrastructure, which politicians of all stripes love to bang on about as some sort of massive job program) have a negligible effect on the local economy. The vast majority of folks working on these jobs are skilled laborers, not

I haven’t seen the numbers, and I can’t imagine anyone else has, either. Ford might well make the argument that this project isn’t financially viable without the incentives. Would you still expect them to invest in that case? No - regardless of how much money they have in the bank.

This is standard practice, wether you like it or not. If you want to see that train station revitalized—and the surrounding community improved—tax incentives are going to be part of the project.

You’re right. There’s a lot more nuance to it than that.

There’s a bit more nuance to it than that, but I didn’t say otherwise.

The question here is wether or not one thinks that this project is good for the surrounding community. If the answer is yes—which is what I’d argue, strongly—then tax incentives are a fairly standard ask. Knowing California, I’m genuinely shocked it only took 15 months.

Don’t get me started with that stupid URL. Drives me up the wall.

Agreed. The fact that it’s a non-commercial vehicle shouldn’t absolve someone from needing a license to drive the thing. It’s ridiculous.

I’m guessing that badge engineered cars like this can piggyback of each others’ certifications - otherwise, I can’t imagine Mazda spending millions to federalize a car only for the PR market.

Supertramp’s “It’s Raining Again”; Dire Straits’ “It Never Rains”; Strict Joy’s “The Rain”.

I endorse this.

I love the fact it has dealer plates...

Oddly enough, I was just reading a blurb yesterday about State’s Y2K prep task force. Seems like it was quite a lift...

We went from the four banger to the H6. It’s not necessary, sure, but it’s much better.

This is some late-model AMG - if any car in the lineup is going to have quad pipes, it’s this one.

I was born 14 years after BN folded, so I’m afraid not!
