The bro culture is why I don’t enjoy Movement anymore. You can’t be female and dance alone or else they zone in on you. And not to mention all the fondling and feeling up. It’s disgusting.

And don’t forget the trussing up of their legs like they’re a goddamn hog.
Right, there are local burner groups that throw parties reminiscent of raves. We moved to Detroit and the Midwest/Great Lakes one is called Lakes of Fire. Looks so much better than roasting in the 100 degree heat of Texas where we came from.
EDC isn’t a rave. The anti-rave act shut that shit down long before millennials came on the scene.
My bf at the time and I went to a rave in NOLA (State Palace Theater, thrown by Disco Donnie of Freebase), we were maybe 20, 21. The kids there thought we were cops cuz we weren’t candy enough :( (and nobody would sell us anything...) Now I’m just an old and he’s dead.
Just piping in to say the raves in Texas in the mid to late 90s were some of the best parties ever...until I went to NOLA and saw how the Freebase Society threw it down. Good lord, those cajuns wrote the book on raving!
Yeah, I think a lot of people commenting here don’t really have a clue what true rural is all about. I grew up in a town of less than 1,000; my graduating class had 29 kids in it (and that was an abnormally large class). We had to drive 30 miles to the nearest next-large town that had the Wal-Mart, and when Wal-Mart…
We struggled to find housing in Detroit (it’s a fairly bigoted city); ended up renting a house where the rent was over $2k. Quickly figured out our landlord was a major bigot - kept calling us roommates when we clearly are not and flat-out refused to fix the myriad of problems with the house. We hired an attorney,…
It sounds as though all the questions were given to her in advance. No groundbreaking journalism from Gayle King here.
Right, we visited Detroit several times and felt totally safe. Then, we ended up moving here and still consider it safe - we just know what parts to avoid, like any major city (my gf said she feels about as safe here as she did growing up in Houston).
Mexico City is one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been to and I felt perfectly safe the entire time (I’m a petite white woman). She’s missing out on a vastly culturally rich city!
Haha, not really, but I’m a pretty charitable person. Or try to be. And some days are better than others.
I have a congenital birth defect and was treated at Shriners up until the age of 18. Unfortunately, my issues are lifelong and here I am, just got informed that I’m getting fired (my employer can no longer “accommodate my leave”) and getting dumped from long term disability and losing my health insurance.
I would give you all my unused spoons if I could :(
Spoken by someone who has zero idea how pharmaceutical research works. I’m not a troll, but you’re just not correct in your assertions. Most drugs never even make it to market and pharma has to eat those costs through R&D. Who do you think the inventors work for? Virtually every drug that comes to market is created by…
Right, I was afraid/positive that it was going to be Celeste dead, since that’s statistically how it goes.
That was a refreshing take from BET...and then I read the comments :/
I was informed on Friday that I will be laid off - or rather, my employer can no longer “accommodate my leave” (I’ve been on long term disability for a little over a year). This means I will lose my disability pay and health insurance, creating massive financial hardship for me and my partner.
I failed to miss the “core” of your post because you aren’t factually correct in your statements. Nor do I agree with that core, either, when it’s not like we can exist in our “own communities” without interacting with the real world. Many of us homos like to travel. There are so many other examples that make existing…
Isn’t it darling how Ivanka can’t be seen with the headset on her precious head?
