The ‘78 Vette was Pace Car basically started the craze for buying Indy Pace Cars over the next decade. But the ‘79 Mustang outsold it by almost double. Probably the most popular selling Pace Car of all time.

Nah, the TRX’s were the first to go. The metric tires had no grip and they were expensive as @#$%. The ‘82 GT was just a Pace Car with a ‘79 Cobra hood scoop and Ford marine camshaft in the same 5.0 that had been used for years. Three colours only for the ‘82 (black, silver or burgundy). I wouldn’t mind having one …
I’ve never hunted because I can buy meat from the grocery store - plus my in-laws were cattle farmers. Should the time come that is no longer an option, I’m prepared to hunt. But I’ll go hungry before I eat @#$ing squirrel. As far as developing one’s timing with a firearm; trap, skeet, or sporting clays works fine…
My ‘79 was my first car. It was 5.0L with a stick. It belonged to the owner of a Ford Dealer. It only had 10,000 miles on it when I bought it - never winter driven. It was babied. I wish I had kept it that way instead of modifying it. I must have sunk $20K+ into it in almost 30 years.
I’m a hobby shooter (paper targets only) and for the life of me I don’t understand the squirrel hunting thing in the U.S.. Parents just love having their kids learn about firearms with their first target being squirrels.
Because this was the best looking one...and I enjoyed owning one for almost 30 years.
It wasn’t built to be the Waldorf Historia, it was built to quickly get a pandemic under control at ground zero. I’m sure it’s easy to make fun of a “Chinese Hospital” that was purpose built while the U.S. now leads the world with 1.5M Covid cases.
The Chinese built a hospital in Wuhan from the ground up in 10 days. GM started building ventilators a month after the discussion started. How hard would it be to get a “recently” shuttered hospital up and running? Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
“Anus shaped mouth”.
You can’t beat Recaros. I used to drive 4 hours one way to University in my ‘79 Pace Car and the Recaros were super comfortable, even with the harsh TRX suspension jolting you.
Totally in agreement with you. Jumping in and out of cars at auto shows, you immediately realized that Volvo’s front seats are on whole other stratosphere when it comes to seat & back comfort.
Sorry, but best equipment always wins - regardless of who is driving. I found this out in my karting days when a fellow racer clinched the championship on the second last race of the season. This guy always ran up front and won consistently. The next day, he did me a favor and loaned me his engine for the last race…
Come again? GM sold more cars (10+ million) in China in the last three model years (2017-2019) than Holden manufactured since they set up shop locally in 1948.
That Australian clip had me convinced that “meat pies” is down-under code for something completely other than food. For all I know, media censorship outside of N.A. was performed by volunteers.
Yup. You win.
So Karen sent her husband out this time....and then Becky sent her husband out as well.
“Lawrence! Lawrence of Arabia. He’s an English guy, he came to fight the Turkish.”
Anyone growing up with a mother who emigrated from Europe knows all about shoe/slipper throwing. It serves notice that you’ve crossed a line. A childhood friend of mine was a daily target and his mother wore slip-ons with wooden heels. She threw like a Major Leaguer.
Honda Beat - second worst vehicle I’ve ever driven. But it couldn’t come close to the worst - the Namco Citroën Pony.
I can’t speak about the UAW, but a few short years working with the former CAW opened my eyes to how vile some of their leadership really was. After the National negotiation was complete, it was time to work on local negotiations. The CAW reps would take an outrageous demand off the table in order to reinstate a bad…
