You mean Tim Burton's attempt to transform a charming, classic children's story into a clumsy "Lord of the Rings"-style war epic? Who could criticize a masterpiece like that?

I'm mildly surprised that no studio has just done a straight-up, full-on remake of the original story since the classic MGM version. I mean a non-ironic, non-parody, non-sequel, non-prequel, non-"re-interpretation." Just a straight cinematic adaptation of the original novel, but with 21st Century filmmaking tools.

Actually I'm a little impressed that Pitt's mother even acknowledges that Obama attended a church instead of just parroting all that "secret Muslim" nonsense.
