"Yeah I liked him when he released information about the Bush administration. Now I don't like him when he releases stuff damaging to my side."

Everyone here is trying to out-do the previous guy on how "above" this show they are, it's like a really sad competition for imaginary internet cred.

I've lurked on AV club for all of Walking Dead, Grimm, and the first season of this. And I love (in the non creepy way) you guys: reviewers and commenters alike. You're a witty, thoughtful, and overall such a supremely fun bunch. Coming here after the show airs is almost more fun than actually watching the show.

I thought that was just a well-characterized Eph moment. "My father…uh…received hams….(shit what am I talking about again?)" I don't know why you guys hate Eph, he's awesome and us.

Carl may or may not have totally redeemed himself (I happen to agree with you), comparing him to this kid is absolutely uncalled for. This kid couldn't suck more if he was a spiral tornado face vortex from Uzumaki

I don't know if you've seen the movie yet but there are at least two un-earned deaths that I found to be both sad and ballsy. The rest of the franchise is pretty stingy with non-villains getting killed as well.

Why would another sequel in the same franchise have the liberty to cast continuity arguments away? Particularly one as reverent to the original as this one?

If it helps your irksome situation in a small part, many, if not all of Ebert's proponents liked him before the death and surgery. I agree that the cult of tragedy is a bit overdone. However, I don't really think Ebert's appreciation falls in that category.

That crumpled up note in the car was Grade A horror/suspense, I'm surprised no one else mentioned it. Everyone I watched it with made an involuntary "Holy fuck" noise.

Having said that, I imagine it's an unenviable task to offer up reviews of an extremely popular show to the Internet-going public.

No one's expecting him to praise it consistently, but every review is basically "I don't like any characters that appeared in the past two seasons so I didn't care about anything that happened." I used to enjoy his reviews but lately it's seemed like he's not really trying to understand anything the show's attempting

I thought it was because he was trying to get it off him without having to fire a shot, alarming everyone at the "I hate Rick" meeting that Rick is roaming around in possession of another gun. Then ended up having to fire it anyway.

Wasn't that the Governors Theme making a reappearance? I get amped up every time they use it.

I don't disagree that Beth's death in particular felt a little bit shoehorned in. I'm not sure I'd say that about any of the others - the carnage that was last year's mid-season finale was, I thought, sad but more than earned from a story standpoint.

I've genuinely enjoyed your tireless attempts to bring rationality to the Maggie-Beth hurr durr all season. On the bright side…at least now you don't have to anymore.

I think you're trying a little too hard to be offended. Beth was most definitely not hot. Emily Kinney, in real life, is pretty, sure. But Beth? No one's upset Beth died because she was hot.

I actually think Kirkman demonstrated that they're fully aware of what killing off a character entails and made a pretty good case for why it's an unfortunate necessity earlier in the show. Could Beth's death have occurred more organically and been more satisfying from a narrative standpoint? Definitely. Can they

I don't know if that was intended to be hilarious, but it was.

It's almost like you can't please all of the people all of the time. Or something.

I forgot about the heart attack. You're fucking right, damn, that should have been way better.
