I grant to you that fictional characters have more of a reason to be likable people than real life humans do, but I still don't understand this "higher" bar that is imposed on Eph here. Can he not just be a main character in an ensemble horror series? We've got like, three other main characters that are untouchable…
Zing! Thanks.
To be fair, that's an almost universally shared human characteristic.
Totally. It's a horror epic. I'm not going to not watch it.
I hate it when people preface their comments by indicating they've read the books, thus making their comment useless for everyone who hasn't read the books. Having said that, and having read the books, this episode was the first one where my curiosity regarding some of the the show's legitimately interesting plot…
I don't think he was infected. He was getting the special worm-free Master drip hook up.
This and the Killer Klowns comparison are both insanely spot on; the tragedy being, of course, that those characters were intentionally hilariously stupid-looking…and I'm guessing that wasn't supposed to be our reaction to the Master.
That's not the argument. The argument is that no one should be wondering if Eph is supposed to be an asshole or if that's the result of WriterFail. It's been clearly telegraphed at least twice per episode that Eph is a golden boy self-absorbed prick. Who also has the unfortunate duty of being the plot propellant in…
That bastard!
Yeah, I agree. "We're setting up everything, just wait" isn't really a good excuse for screaming past what could and should be some epic character moments. I think you're just upset that Diane ate it.
I don't know…this was definitely less entertaining than the previous two episodes, but I feel like maybe we're taking the whole "I need to feel emotional resonance to the characters to enjoy what happens to them in a pulp horror vampire spectacle series" just a little bit too far. This is the kind of show where we…
It definitely seems like he completely hates the show. The substitute review last week was the first one I've enjoyed in about a year.
Agreed. Just last season she seemed doomed to the role of baby-carrier and closing-song-singer but the writers have actually turned her into someone I'm genuinely invested in. Of course, that probably means she's gonna die.
