Contemporary reports suggested that the drivers actually kind of liked the DGP layout itself, but I'll never understand the grand stupidity that drove the decision to host a race on a temporary circuit in Dallas in fucking July.

Precisely.

So that god-awful street course in Houston isn't an issue, but COTA is? Come on, guys. I get that this is decided on a mileage radius, but don't be ridiculous. I have a hunch that a COTA-IRL attending fan is a slightly different fan to the TMS-IRL attending fan. I've gone to and will go to IRL races at TMS, but only

Drive the completely replaceable and daily-able 330i and slowly mete out the $5k to keep it in good shape?

Nah, it's just Spec Miata, most SM grids field that many cars which are out of spec.

Why do you insist on beating the shit out of us by inviting the commentariat to discuss corporate finance?

Certainly, I was only commenting within the context of the 10 year timeframe given by the article. The hot hatch isn't exactly a new phenomenon, even in the States.

Ford showed some promise back in 2004 with the GT and the (then) new Mustang, but that couldn't have predicted how strong Fords lineup has become across the board. Who would have thought Ford would be making one of the best hot hatches on the market?

I'm sure that Rossi knew what was up when he was listed on the entry, and it's a very poignant tribute to Bianchi, but jesus christ, Rossi just can't get into a car, can he?

The irony is so strong here.

I went to the Youtube comments hoping to find someone saying what I said seriously, but I guess the video hasn't been up long enough for them to craw out of their holes. I did, however, find this gem:

I SEE YOU'RE STILL GETTING THAT PORSCHE MANAGEMENT PAYOLA, DEMURO. IDAHO IS ON TO YOU, MAN.

And the answer is, it's pretty good. Driveclub definitely falls on the arcade racer side of things, rather than a full-blown sim like Gran Turismo or Forza. Yeah, the mechanics of racing — taking the right lines, braking in the right spots, etc. — are important because they'll get you through the course faster, but

Died in my cube when I read "scissored it". Literally died.

Jezebel would like to have a chat with you about your chauvinistic use of the phrase "nailed it", because of course you men only think about how you want to "nail" women.

That's too bad. The GT3 Z4 is a fantastic looking racecar, maybe one of the most well-proportioned ever, and I'm not big on the move to big coupes for the base vehicles in the GT3 classes (see: Bentley).

Not a chance in the real world, but the nostalgia-factor is high.

That was definitely much more wistful thinking than serious questioning. ORECA seems to have their hands full other places, anyhow, and they were being heavily compensated by Chrysler the first go around and I can't imagine that they would do it without having the same arrangement.

Certainly fair on that front.

The livery is already in place, so what are the chances that ORECA wants to hop back in bed with Viper?
