Actually, DAI was something of an anomaly because the DA2 expansion pack was cancelled that same summer (2011), so by the time development started, they had a ton of people on Inquisition early (which is one of the reasons the game’s world is so big — arguably too big).

Agreed, all it did was stop us from getting an expansion pack for DA2, and that story got rolled up into DAI.

That’s not true at all. Inquisition started development just a few months after DA2. I know this because I wrote about it in a book that’s coming out soon ;)
