While I like having the intellectual high ground, here’s the thing: The WH could have said that she was having a difficult recovery from surgery. McConnell and other Senators have flat out told Drumpf that if he fires Sessions they won’t allow him to replace him. Sessions is their old buddy, and they are sticking up for him. (they may also have some hesitation about impeding Mueller’s investigation...)
