Short of stopping the attorney from physically harming someone (and that was not happeneing here) it is wholly inappropriate to handcuff an attorney in Court. Period. (Long time attorney here.)

That jumped out at me. I’m a lawyer, there are Judges I’ve appeared before many times, and I have never, ever heard a Judge call an attorney by their first name in Court. It is, frankly, demeaning, especially in this contect.

Or they get an insurance bond to secure the judgment. The trial court (if it’s like CA) also can, and probably will, reduce the verdict amount prior to final judgment.

Funny - I was raised in LA, and really like driving in NYC. And driving in LA isn’t so terrible - the drivers are much more skillful and polite than here in the Bay Area, where I have come to love mass transit!
