I think that’s why it’s boring the hell out of me, though. It’s like, girl, I remember the South Africa cycle, too...

That second shot looks like everything Naima shot on ANTM.

Never thought I’d find parallels between Crash fans and Trump voters, but there you go.

My pleasure! It’s hard to find in regular grocery stores, but Whole Foods and specialty markets typically have it.

Unless you have a connection, it’s only affordable in quantity. Don’t be shocked by the price if you buy by the pint. And make sure you start with the right grade! Grade A Light or Medium Amber is usually best for maple virgins.

Its top ingredients are water, caramel coloring, and corn syrup. It honestly tastes nothing like syrup.

My dad grew up on a Vermont maple syrup farm. My family’s been making maple syrup there since the 1790s. I once jokingly suggested trying our local Connecticut syrup at a diner, and he responded with “Why don’t you try walking home, shithead.”

We have opposite experiences. No one in my world seems to know about “Masters of Sex,” a few people talk about “Shameless,” and there’s regular discussion of “Ray Donovan” and how great Liev Schreiber is in it.

In the hospitals/programs I was in, it wouldn’t have happened — I’ve been in with a famous model and a well-known musician, and possibly others I didn’t recognize — but he’s in Los Angeles, so...yeah, probably. Which is shameful because it doesn’t help him in any way and also distracts other patients (and staff).

I just realized that autocorrect made this say “impatient” instead of “inpatient.” Motherduck.

Please don’t dismiss mental illness as attention-seeking. I understand that he’s not a particularly sympathetic figure, but have a heart here.

Speaking as someone with a few impatient depression/anxiety stays under their belt:

Gru, you diabolical genius.

The trick to Drunk History has always been that you need someone who 1) knows absolutely nothing about the topic and 2) only reads Wikipedia to prepare. Lin is basically a real Hamilton scholar at this point, so it kinda kills the fun. :(

That’s not what happened on CNN. It was a remarkably awful chyron, but the conversation was really about the rise in white nationalism. Unfortunately, few people seem to have seen the actual segment and instead just keep spreading the “CNN debated if Jews are people” meme.

I’ve always assumed that her role as the obnoxious, mean-spirited comedian on “Seinfeld” was written specifically about her, and that she either didn’t get that or was too much a fame-whore to care.

If you love “Parks & Rec,“ you should be watching “People of Earth.” Same executive producer, and the show is really quite tender to “weird” people who would just be punchlines on other shows.

As someone who’s life was saved by a welfare check and involuntary hold, I’ll just say that the only thing going on here is the reality of significant mental health challenges. I would encourage you to learn more about them, the shortage of providers and beds, and ways to be supportive of people in need.
