If you’re going to insult a fanbase, can you not hide behind a veil?

Take it easy there fella.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't butcher this Rogen/Goldberg. I can only take so many excellent Vertigo titles diluted into network schlock (Constantine and from the looks of the trailer, Lucifer). AMC and the generally nerd friendly Rogen should give the character all the freedom to flourish.

Getting a little noticeable around this forum of how Marvel Studios is behind on the times with lack of female/POC representation yet WB/DC properties have had a stable studio presence for decades longer. Where’s the faux outrage with Batman having yet another white actor?

You cold hearted bastard. *sobs*

Retta/Donna as Marlow Jones.

Hell of a good idea.

I read this as beat off Hulk and Thor and I shuddered.

No, this needs to be buried deep in order for Constantine to be reborn with better show runners and writers. Keep Matt Ryan though.

Tom Hardy as The Punisher...now I can’t un-see this.

You sick, twisted bastard.

Lol at the backhanded critique of Marvel movies.

When the first reply outshines the OP. Well done.

This is an over simplification of fair criticism towards the producers/head honchos for the DCCU, not about Leto who is a great actor and choice for the Joker mantle. But he can only do so much if the filmmakers are going out of their way to make odd choices for the character.

Leto being a great actor and this horrible costume design have nothing to do with each other.

No, they weren’t. Especially after Ledger’s costume reveal which allayed whatever worries there were.

Not the same situation, don’t understand why you’re making these actors exclusively related. Guaranteed people would be critical with Ledger in this getup.

This isn't a Nolan helmed universe though. It's Snyder.

Most Io9 commenters do not read the actual article, using only the article title to go ballistic with.

It's not that simple. Dark and serious is fine, Winter Soldier and Batman Begins are great examples of being serious while also being well written and an ode to its comic book origins. MoS/Snyder was just overbearing in its approach, trying too hard to equate grim/brooding/visually dark to good
