Definitely drank that Kool-Aid they were dishing out from the 50's to the 90's by the gallon full.

Jesus this comment section. Definitely drank that Koolaid they were dishing out from the 50's to the 90's by the gallon full.

The issue is that totally ordinary people that make mistakes (you know, humans) tend to lose sympathy for people when none is extended to them. We each deserve grace... until we don’t (of course).

I dunno. QA’s job is literally quality assurance. Yeah, it should never have made it that far, but us programmers shouldn’t put bugs in our games, artists shouldn’t accidentally make clouds that look like copyrighted characters, etc etc.
If this was a small game with no budget, sure, QA is just making sure it doesn’t

I’d say less “chose not to say anything” and more “too tired and beaten down to bring it up”. QA work is exhausting, and it can really burn someone out who is just trying to do regression tests and making sure everything in the game matches what’s on the sheet.

We know 343 didn’t mean for this to happen, but how did it not get caught? I’d be sweating if I was in QA. I’d take a 50/50 bet that someone on QA noticed it and chose not to say anything...

Sounds like an honest mistake. A stupid, stupid, extremely unlucky and stupid mistake.

I don’t really agree it’s a cash grab as a whole because not all beers and breweries are equal. With beer, different styles can cost considerably more to produce than others. Like when I homebrew a NE IPA, it costs twice as much as brewing a cream ale or blone does because of the huge amount of hops required. And with

Basically no one in France takes the Académie seriously beside a few old people. They sound as ridiculous to us as they do to you.

They don’t have a point. Preservation of the language in term of historical value is a noble goal. Prescription of language even in the government is dumb. People dictates what the language is and they’re not gonna adopt the new idiotically complicated nomenclature just because government workers are using it. So now

The Académie can’t outlaw the use of the words in everyday speech, or even in the media, that’s not within their powers or their intent, but the ban is now “binding on government workers”, which means that when speaking on the topic or preparing papers, French officials need to find different ways of saying words

The irony of French wanting to maintain pure and distinct by shunning foreign words is just hilarious, given that the fucking Normans are the reason why English is such a goddamn mess, dragging in all that Latin-origin French shit into the Germanic-origin English...

That’s why I refuse to live in a neighborhood with a HOA.

“Hopefully the neighborhood and the HOA can work together on a more logical solution.”

Oh no, you’ve seen one or two fat folks who probably have medical conditions riding around on scooters. Let’s just ignore the other billion people not on scooters.

If that is true, perhaps you should work on your delivery.
