Likely because they don’t realize there’s a much wider world of quality whiskey that comes from Canada than Crown Royal but haven’t had that world opened up to them (not to mention the bevy of low quality whiskeys that come from Canada, i.e. Royal Reserve).

Crown (while formally a higher tier whiskey) hasn’t been a top shelfer in years. It’s been a long time since they’ve went from being 12 year aged whiskeys to being blends of between 5-8 years.

What the fucking hell kind of provision is this in the United States?
