Your Glock is of very little use in defending yourself against identity thieves in another time zone (or another country) opening up fraudulent credit cards in your name.

Same. I’m pretty sure all my critical information has been compromised multiple times over due to assorted data breaches over the years. Other than long-term credit freezes and regularly changing critical passwords…I’m not sure there much else you can really do about it.

It’s not really a military capacity issue, though. It’s the same problem the US had fighting the VC in Vietnam. The Taliban didn’t wear easily identifiable uniforms, didn’t march in clearly defined formations, and didn’t maintain military bases so much as small hideouts. They could strike without little or no

Wait…isn’t this the plot of the upcoming Suicide Squad game from Rocksteady, only he’s being mind-controlled by Brainiac instead of Starro?

You’re not wrong that the American public will be quick to forget Afghanistan once the steady stream of images and stories about the Taliban’s brutality in seizing control of the country again get replaced by the next hot topic in the news cycle. But we’ll be left dealing with an actively hostile theocratic regime in

There’s some truth in that. The Taliban we fought 20 years ago was a disorganized mess of tribal infighting, armed with barely functional 20-year-old Soviet weapons, occasionally supplemented with cheap North Korean gear and angry over the broad impacts of a couple centuries of Western imperialism. Today’s Taliban

You’re not wrong, but at the same time - this was always going to be a shitshow. From pretty much the start.

I’m ambivalent. I sure as hell won’t be seeing it in a crowded theatre full of plague rats (I live in FL…any confined space full of people here is a horrible idea). But honestly…I probably wouldn’t have forked over $30 to watch it on D+ Premiere Access, either. Paying for a specific movie on top of already paying for

It’s a little frustrating that some people are taking additional boosters in advance of official recommendations to do so when there are other parts of the world that are desperate for those vaccine doses. But by the same token, there are a lot of places here in the US throwing out expiring doses from lack of demand.

That’s a trick question, because unless you live off the grid in a cabin in the woods…your privacy was gone a long time ago.

Mars. It’ll probably be a one-way ticket for the first couple generations, but there’s a very real chance that we’re hurtling toward a future where there may not be much to come back to, anyway.

Meh.  By halfway through the movie, I was hoping Peacemaker would meet a hilariously awkward demise and we could be done with him.

But he did negotiate his freedom with the data. He could certainly make an appearance in another DCEU property, but he’s no longer part of the Suicide Squad.

It’s hard to see Peacemaker being even a remotely competent leader. I’d be willing to bet money they bring in Deathstroke to lead Task Force X if they make a 3rd installment.

She was easily the best character in the movie. I spent most of the movie concerned that she (or Sebastian) were going to meet a tragic end.

Just watched it on HBOMax. Thoughts:

Thank you! I thought I was almost alone in that opinion. Combat in the Ascent with an Xbox controller is absolutely maddening. Maybe it works better with a mouse and keyboard, but I bailed out and deleted it after half an hour of frustration.

On one hand, I’m certain that there is a population of clinically obese people with generous healthcare insurance that this will help.

Conceptually, this all sounds more like some kind of dystopian sci-if torture than anything productive or therapeutic. Practically, I would also expect there’s a very fine line between “editing specific memories” and “being left in need of months of physical and occupational therapy to become a functional human being

1) I fully concur - the DCEU in its current iteration is a hot mess. Expectations are pretty low for any upcoming projects (beyond possibly Suicide Squad 2).
