Our checks and balances are basically function on the honor system, and assume that all parties involved have a healthy respect of one another’s roles in the governing process (even if they disagree with the substance or character of the other side).

Nothing screams “it’s a trap!” quite like a formerly relevant alt-right white nationalist/neo-Nazi attempting to endorse a Democratic candidate.  At best, it’s a craven attempt to become relevant again. But really....it’s probably just an attempt to rope the campaign into a “gotcha!” moment. Glad they saw right

That would be much more tangible and satisfying than my actual job. *sigh*

This.

I thought The Crow was set in Detroit (hence, the whole Devil’s Night thing), and that Gotham generally refers to NYC?

At 4 hours long, that’s not a movie. That’s binging a miniseries in one sitting.

Substantive progress on the environment, social justice, education, economic opportunity and healthcare...that would be amazing. But the first two years of the Biden administration are going to be spent picking up the pieces from the past four years, and any one of those issues could easily eat up the last couple

Plus, it’s frozen food. You’re going to kill the virus by cooking it. And if you touch your eyes or mouth after handling raw food...well, that’s a bad idea in the first place. That’s a good way to pick up a run-of-the-mill foodborne illness (which, while not as scary as the ‘Rona, still sucks).

I get doing a dirty keto diet because it lets you eat a ton of bacon and cheese without any guilt (except for the cruelty and environmental impact of animal agriculture). But even then...you still gotta eat some leafy greens, avocados and nuts.

Six or eight months ago, I would have wholeheartedly agreed with you. There were the better choices. But the rest of the Democratic primary voters disagreed, and this is what we’ve got to work with now.

While it’s a fine idea, I’d be concerned about the proportion of maskholes that would return fire with a concealed carry pistol because they felt their souls were being violated by an assault with a Satan-worshipping, commie sheeple mask.

This.

It’s riding the bus, not getting married. I feel like that gets lost in a lot of political discourse.

So, this is what it’s come down to.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see them make the drop boxes the size of tissue boxes and put them on top of electrical high-tension towers.

If UPS or Fedex wanted to deliver the coup de grace to the USPS, they’d offer to pickup and deliver ballots for free.

I’d consider a bundle if it saved me some money. I mean, I already pay $15/mo for an Apple Music family plan and $10/mo for 2tb of iCloud backup. I don’t really care enough about ATV or Apple Arcade to bother with them individually...but if they want to throw them in for what I’m currently paying, I’ll try them out.

Seeing as how water is already reaching critical levels across the desert SW and through SoCal due ever-increasing population growth and continuous fights with upstream agricultural interests, this seems...poorly thought out.

Ah, Marion County. Having lived nearby in Alachua County (Gainesville) for a few years while I went to UF, I can say this is not even remotely surprising. Marion County’s biggest town is Ocala, known for horse farms, sad pre-interstate system Floridian tourist attractions and generally being a “don’t get off I-75

It’s...a long story.
