Had the roles been reversed and Bill Weld been the Libertarian presidential nominee in 2016 (with Gary Johnson as VP or just not on the ticket, instead), they would have been much more credible and might have tipped the election by syphoning off more old school Republican Never-Trump votes.

I’m a little less harsh on dirtbags when they’re willing to admit how awful they are and openly embrace it. It doesn’t necessarily make them better people....but at least it makes them more logically consistent people.

I completely get your point about Pence being a better organized and arguably more malevolent force to be reckoned with. But if the chaos and corruption in this administration can be out of full display in Congressional hearings for the next 18 months, it helps the Democrats control the narrative in 2020 and it keeps

John Kelly - flawed as he may have been - was they last person left trying to keep some semblance of order in this administration. And he’s been gone since the end of last year. It’s the inmates completely running the asylum at this point.

You’ve clearly never had to host my in-laws and my spouse’s extended family for Easter.

Someone seriously needs to have a heart-to-heart with Chuck about his mustache and goatee. Either grow it out and own it, or shave that mess off. No more “this is all my wife would let me do for No Shave November” wishy-washiness.

There are plenty of critical shortages of labor elsewhere in the economy. I’m pretty sure the worker bees in the health insurance business would land on their feet soon enough, especially if there was also a concerted effort to get them job training/apprenticeships/tuition assistance as part of the Medicare for All

Exactly. If you can’t afford the deductible and the co-insurance, your health plan doesn’t actually give you access to healthcare.

Yeah, that’s like expecting that the mob bills for protection via paper invoices like a local lawn service.

With a $5k deductible and a $10k annual out of pocket max, my “amazing” private healthcare is basically just keeps me from having to declare bankruptcy right away if I ever get cancer or have a heart attack. Short of that...it’s almost completely useless. Anything more severe than a GP visit for an ear infection

On the spectrum of liabilities in the democratic hopefuls this presidential election cycle, “lack of experience” would seem to be a lesser issue than having a truckload of baggage following a lengthy political career.

Yeah, as a white kid from a middle class suburban neighborhood who was bussed for desegregation into an impoverished black neighborhood for a few years in middle school back in the 80’s, I can’t say that it was particularly effective in bridging any major divides. The kids from my neighborhood mostly stuck together, th

For all his personal and policy failings, Sessions was at least motivated by a sense of self-preservation, and likely some weird passive-aggressive issues with Trump himself after getting (albeit tangentially) sucked into the Russia investigation. But this guy seems to be 100% Team Trump from the moment go, with zero

Wow...you might want to consider switching to decaf, man. I was just saying that we need to stop getting steamrolled like Ned Flanders in a UFC bout, not that we should actually break out the machetes.

Sovereign states with taxing and monetary authority do play by very different rules than private citizens or businesses, that much is very true. And a balanced budget amendment couple potentially be dangerous by constraining legitimate deficit spending strategies in times of war or other crises.

Yeah, “when they go low, we go high” just gets you punched in the nuts while you swing wildly at where the guy who’s gone low used to be.

And this is why I checked out of From games after Demon’s Souls. It was an interesting experience, but one I don’t want to repeat unless they add an easier mode. Seriously, what kind of sadist makes an action game with no ability to pause, much less a sprawling adventure where you can only save at a very limited

This list should be on a continuous scroll (ala the Star Wars opening sequence) as the screensaver for all White House PCs. Just as a reminder to anyone there under the illusion that it’s a long-term job.

Up next for confirmation to the post - the horrifyingly reanimated corpse of Heinrich Himmler.

He’s like a balding Rasputin, whose vibe leans more “serial killer” than “wizard.”
