You’re correct in that if it came to that, they’d probably end up having to be separate countries - the west coast more aligned with Pacific rim countries for support and trade and NE more aligned with European countries.

The next move is to mobilize for the midterms in November. This battle is lost. It’s awful, and it hurts to admit defeat...but the only chance to keep America from going back to political climate of the late 19th century is to change the balance of Congress.  ASAP.  Before RBG dies of old age.
