Dogfight was great, agreed.

I haven’t watched The Crown or Ted Lasso, so I can’t weigh in on how deserving the shows and actors are this year, but looking through the list I couldn’t help but notice how very very white the winners were. I think every single acting winner across all twelve categories was white.
Now, Guardians 1 and Ragnarok are definitely two of the best...seven? Marvel films, but what “risks” exactly did these directors take besides deliberately making their films funnier than the already quip-heavy Marvel house style? (Serious question!)
Per the article, the study was done on individuals who’d contracted COVID 6-9 months prior. Not two weeks. Nicki Minaj should absolutely get vaccinated, as I said. But she does have some time.
Also the study acknowledges its limitations in that it focused on the Alpha variant, not the Delta variant, which is very…
yah I said “right now” didn’t I?
If she recently had COVID, her immune system should have developed a natural protection against the virus, so there’s actually no need for her to get vaccinated right now. That doesn’t excuse her not already being vaccinated, but she does have time to decide which vaccine she wants.
(over a month later but I only just saw the film)
Abolish the Non-Profit Industrial Complex.
Excellent point. You’d think the completely blind civilization would adapt their clothing to appeal to other senses, instead of visual aesthetics: touch, sound, maybe smell. And be creative and fashionable within those categories.
I still don’t get the need for directors to keep giving this incredibly lukewarm take. Yeah it sucks that the movie you made, a labor of love, didn’t get a full theatrical run. But also...cope. It’s not personal. It’s the result of a global pandemic that has killed ~4.5 million people (so far).
Or just another full season of guest hosts? Allow folks to get a little more comfortable in the role, see if they get better or the audiences start responding better to them? I don’t think they need to rush this.
I think it’s more like “Horatio showed up to a party with an obviously underage girl on his arm, who wasn’t like, his cousin, and he was plying her with alcohol, so maybe a reasonable person would raise an eyebrow”
Money is the only relief available to folks under American civil law, especially for torts. That’s what our justice system has decided is the appropriate way to repair harm. If this case were about anything other than sexual abuse/assault, I guarantee no one would bat an eye and start whispering about how she’s only…
“(Fallon is called out by name as knowing she was a junior in high school while she was drinking in his company.)“
It’s useful to remember that Alex Trebek was once just Some Guy, too. He had had some hosting experience, but was not a celebrity by any means. Instead he became one by doing his job very well for a very long time. And even when he had become a celebrity, his hosting style still allowed for focus on the contestants…
All investments carry risk. Maybe you shouldn’t have made it your career to hold people’s basic right to shelter hostage for money.
As a follow up, and after further reflection (this was an incredibly riveting piece of television), I’ll add some caveats:
I disagree. He made it clear that he understood what he’d signed up for—yes, it was difficult for him that she was dating multiple people, but that’s not what upset him. It was that he really did pour his heart out and was more vulnerable with her than he’d been before, with anyone (supposedly), and she kinda brushed…
I think you’re missing the point where the cast and showrunners of said show decided that their show should address how the entire institution of policing is incredibly violent and designed to preserve existing power structures in society, as opposed to “solving crimes” or “protecting people”.
