Thanks for the update on the size, comparable to an X5.

My brother has a similar vintage Highlander with 249k miles, last of the first gen. Looking to replace with a new Highlander once they become more available in a few months.  It has always had maintenance performed a few major services like replacing the driveshaft a few months ago but even that was doable as DIY.

Exactly. It actually says in regard to torque, “more on that later”, then no other comments.

Some news reports/commentary suggested that those above him (Supreme Leader and others) were not happy with him and the way he was seemingly acting on his own during some missions  He might not have been in lock step with his superiors but they were afraid of the power he wielded.

I agree.

Perfect. You having no kids means you can afford this monstrosity. Putting 2 kids through day care for the first 5 years of life cost just about what 2 of these things cost (at least Boston area decent daycare).

VW is all in on EV because they were forced to be by many governments, mainly the US. They are in it for the money since they already are forced to market the idea of EVs yet didn’t have anything competitive in the pipeline.  I am still hoping they can come up with some competitive EVs at decent prices.

I always thought the big benefit from the system was high speed maneuverability. At higher speeds the rear wheels turn the same direction as the front wheels.

Neutral:

I like this approach as well.

I agree. I have radar cruise control in my Hyundai and it works very well. But, I only use it maybe once per month out of my ~1,500 miles per month driven just to play around with it.  I would much rather be under more control instead of relying on the machine. due to the same reasons.

We also need to remember the reason a tax credit exists at all is because hard working people put a lot of money into the coffers every year. The rich, who are benefiting from this, are also the ones paying the most in taxes. For a lot of middle to high income earners who are really pinched by higher taxes, think

People hold the folks in Germany in very high regard (in regard to road rules). I have not driven, but have visited and spent time on the highways around Munich being driven around, German people are not driving gods.  They might be better than most of the US population but it isn’t perfect either.

I have made sure to use Mass Save on my last house and this one. I (we all) are paying for it anyway, might as well take advantage of it. Used it for a high efficiency hot air furnace and saved enough in rebates through mass save plus manufacturer rebates to add AC to the last house.

**al-u-min-i-um.

There are many articles on it but here is a starter. WLTP is supposed to be more realistic and even more conservative for EVs but they are still optimistic vs the EPA.

I’ll add some comments from a co-worker of mine who owned one up until recently. “You get a mostly reliable yet thirsty and under-powered V8.”

The thing is, for my Sonata PHEV, you change the oil every 7,500 miles and maybe an air filter or two before 100k miles. This as about $500-$600 at the dealer for the first 100k. Now that isn’t free but about $100 or less for the average driver.

Yes, I am first town south of Boston. Eversource for me last month was $0.231 per kWh. Electricity generation cost is $0.108 per kW and delivery is $0.123 per kWh. Can’t have one without the other so this is the total cost per kWh.

I saw one of my first Regals on the road in NH driving back to MA last week. My wife was dumbfounded why I even mentioned the car as we passed it, and she is the one who wanted an Enclave the first time she saw it (‘08 or ‘09 as a ~27 year old) and and we ended up with a new one a few years later in 2014.
