Typically many more autos available in the Sky/Solstice models so shouldn’t be a problem to find others.

I agree that should help but I am not sure if the larger battery will equal the weight of a traditional drivetrain.  I sure hope it is lighter.  I just hope they keep the compact size but give it some real rear legroom to make it usable.

I hear you. I have crammed a lot of odd sized things into my Sonata and since it is a PHEV, no folding rear seats. I get by just fine.

Very true. I would be surprised if this gets even 100 miles of range with that size of battery. Basing this on the 9.8 kWh battery in my Sonata where depending on conditions gets 24-28 miles of range, slightly less than it did 50k miles ago. Let’s be generous and call it 30 miles per kWh and we are just a tick over

The real question...  did the driver get his text message out before impact?

And where you have to produce more than just a thought. For those of us in industries that actually make something tangible and also benefit from meeting up with colleagues we rely on daily that happen to be across the country or across the world, a phone call doesn’t cut it every time. Can’t build a relationship over

Exactly. Just worked a full 3 days upon an AM arrival on Tuesday in San Diego. Flew back on the red eye last night to Boston, arrived at 6am, drove home to shower and see my kids off to school because my wife had to get to work earlier today and now am in the office. The expectation for us is if they pay extra for

The problem is that the V60 is still a small car, at a high price.  Not to say it isn’t worth it but it is nicer than it needs to be to appeal to a larger market who can’t shell out extra money.

Seeing how they put up links to Jalopnik, it has also been a way to bring other users into Jalopnik, likely from a different demographic.

Just went over this with my mother in law who felt like she was being taken advantage of by a local repair shop earlier this week.

Can confirm with real experience in my 2016 Sonata PHEV. Although it isn’t terrible in the right conditions, like clear weather and clear highway. I drop from maybe the 37-40 mpg range in hybrid mode to 26-30 mpg range when charging but if I drive ~25-26 miles, I get nearly a mile of range in EV mode back per mile

The only Splinter worth worrying about.

We could also argue we spend more time in idle because we keep cramming more people into tighter and tighter spaces without the same % change in infrastructure, whether roads or other.

Agree.  My Sonata PHEV has one of the most intuitive layouts, similar to the Ioniq.  The new Sonata that just launched seems to have improved the overall look but keeps the similar layout.  I love that everything you need on a day to day basis can be controlled with a knob or button and almost everything can be done 2

Yep, lived in a different town then and my commute was different (although still doing 30-32 miles each way) but I was in my car in Marlborough at 11:45 am as the flakes started flying, pulled into the driveway where I was staying at the time in Quincy around 7:30 pm just as the flakes were coming to an end.

This whole story needs an asterisk, that says for people of average or below average height.

Most Buick and GMC dealerships are combined Buick/GMC dealers.  In a time when Buick only made cars and GMC did the trucks and SUVs, it made a ton of sense.  Now, Buick is primarily a soft SUV brand but at least they compete in slightly different size categories with a little overlap in the small and mid-size segments.

I guess it is safer than the glovebox minibar offered in the ‘57 Caddy Eldorado Brougham.

Since it seems that shops are always looking for qualified mechanics, it seems there are not enough good ones to go around as it is.
