I wonder how much data it actually consumes. I share my ~4 gigs of data per month, never come close to maxing it out and my phone is plugged in about 2+ hours per day while driving.

Can confirm. Saw my CTS posted for sale by the VW dealer I traded it in to. The CarFax did not show the accident I had been in it a year before. This was a $5k-$6k type of accident, car in the shop for weeks, work completed at a Caddy dealer.

Can confirm. State Police Explorer was fine with me doing 80 as I moved out of his way and happily stayed behind a group of cars in front of me doing 80 mph the other morning on 95/128N at 5:30am. It wasn’t until a few miles further when a Camaro came weaving through the traffic going closer to 90 did he move over and

Only ever used it for the novelty and bored on certain drives.  Without live traffic info, nav systems are fairly useless.  None can compare to Google Maps when running Android Auto.  No ads, no silly distractions like on Waze and that simple and comforting feel of a map.

Because health care costs money.

To add to KillerCow:

Ahem, it is RMV here in MA. Just joking, took me years to call it RMV after growing up in NY calling it the DMV. It is nice when the dealer can issue everything. Usually all I need to do is email my insurance rep and tell them the new VIN and when the purchase will happen. AAA offices have registry-lite services that

Same in Med Device manufacturing, for good reason. Projects take 3-5+ years, usually after many years of skunkworks type activities.

You should be thanking the lord or whoever you want for providing the internet because you seem to really enjoy your profession and what you are doing now likely could not have been monetized in even the not so distant past. No way would it fit in a magazine and a book isn’t the right format either. What a great time

Yup.  Live in the country, you smell manure.  Live in the city, you smell the diesel fumes to deliver the items that produced the manure or use it to fertilize.  Quityerbitchin’

I thought people usually go from BMW to Honda because they don’t want to deal with excessive work/time/money poured into something they don’t or can’t fix themselves? I admire the effort and ability to dream though as I drive my reliable but boring machine day in and day out. Hope it works out for you.

Watch out though. The SS has a ton of interior space. The Model 3 does not. I am in the situation of ~65 miles per day and went the PHEV route and with mine I can do EV one way, hybrid the other. I am also dealing with the 2% of drive time requiring space for 3 on a weekday basis. I use it on the weekends to offset

Just posted a similar thought yesterday but in a different thread. I was in La Jolla a few weeks ago, these things are everywhere and litter the landscape along an otherwise beautiful stretch of the coast. I would say no more than 30-40% were stored standing up in an area that could likely be out of the way but still

I agree, the X7 looks way better in person. Also have seen a few Telurides on the road, they look much smaller than what I thought they would look like. For some reason I thought it was going to be big an imposing, like an Armada/QX80 or whatever they call the big Infiniti these days. Even as a lower trim level, it

Same here. Although even for me I have never felt pressure in those offices. Not sure how nearly every person commenting has had a poor experience. Maybe because I have only purchased/help purchase a few vehicles, 3 new (Buick, Chevy and VW) and 4 used cars (Jeep, Honda, Cadillac, Pontiac) and if they even asked about

I am always on the lookout for a family fun car. Unfortunately my current budget is $0 but I have not found one. Ideally, a fun cruiser type car, want something reasonably new that has some safety features and a convertible would be great. The primary mission is with 2 kids or 2 kids and my wife to go to sports

Be careful what you wish for. I was traveling for work and in La Jolla, CA, the Bird and Lyft scooters litter the landscape. That is maybe fine in an area like laid back CA, can’t imagine many east coast people to put up with these things littering the sidewalk. If they set up parking locations and infrastructure

I’ve posted my results before but will again. In the northeast, running a decent hybrid car is likely the best choice when range and cost come into play, or even a highly efficient gas engine if you primarily drive true highway miles. I am in the northeast with a PHEV, with high electricity costs and have a long

I remember seeing a street parked Jetta with a stolen stereo when going to class in college. The passenger window was broken, glass all over the seat. On the seat was the big VW logo from the grille, guessing that someone smashed the VW badge out then used it to break the window.

This video should be at the top of this blog post. This is why these safety measures exist. The fact that they save you from the mundane low speed crashes is reason enough for me. They are there for when the truly unavoidable happens to mitigate you from being injured worse or even save you from being killed.
