If you think in terms of monthly payments instead of total cost, you can see how people still do this with cars.

That’s how I feel with my Sonata PHEV. Never thought I would own a hybrid or a Hyundai but here I am and I would recommend it 100%.  Just passed 36k miles last week in just a tick over 2 years, no problems.  It just works and is actually a very comfortable car, giving up only a little bit of trunk space vs a

Maybe the originator wanted his design back.

Gasoline cost varies across the country but not nearly as much as electricity does. I have been able to do multiple comparisons on EV vs hybrid operation and it almost always is a wash for my particular driving situation. If you are talking about comparing EV vs non-hybrid gasoline powered cars, the EV will be cheaper

While I am not the target buyer for this, why is offering a higher performance version of a vehicle that can actually fit people and a few things, along with some added ride height that people seem to like, a bad thing?

The front quarter view you have posted is by far the worst angle on this car. I think the headlights have something to do with it too.  It looks bloated in a weird way.

Could also get into a TourX for similar money with the massive discounts on those and have more space.

When we would drive over from upstate NY to ski a few times a year in VT (only when it was early or late season because we were cheap) we came up with a system for determining “wealth” in VT.

To go full circle, how about a gas powered generator? If it can provide the power, it does what you want but would take forever and be terribly inefficient.

Yikes... $50k a year salary here, once you factor in taxes, wouldn’t even allow you to have 2 kids in daycare... Luckily almost done with that but 1 year was >$40k

I am in the same area and we have well over a hundred here as direct labor.  The company pays well but they can only really “survive” on $40-60k per year because the majority live north of Boston in the greater Lowell area where housing is cheaper.

Absolutely. Very difficult trying to find qualified engineers in the Boston area right now. Worse it has been in years.

Priced high so they can discount at 15% right from the start.

I like the TourX and have yet to see one on the road in the Boston area. I sat in one at the dealer and felt content as a taller guy that it would fit me and the family well. The other thing is that you can find these all over the place with significant discounts.

Yup.  He seems to have done a decent job of squeezing the most from the assets and selling them when it makes sense to benefit the shareholders, the only people a corporation is beholden too.  Sears had it’s death warrant signed years ago and the dismantling over the years provided cash to the shareholders while

Not a bad way to get clicks on land that doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of interest. Roping in known rich clientele who would or might have money to buy a car like this would also be able to afford some hard to find a use for land.

That is how I ended up in my PHEV Sonata. Took the tax credits from Federal and state rebates. I am paying for them through taxes anyway, just a way to get some of my money back.

What? You are not paying any taxes at that low wage. The rich or corporations are not getting more “free” money, they are keeping the money they earned, not getting “free” money from the government.

Money is the great equalizer in anything. Not race, religion, etc,
