How about $31k? Subtract the tax credit and you end up with a pretty good deal. Add in a state rebate/credit, depending on your state, and the savings are even better. I am sure you can find similar deals in other parts of the country.

Yes, the Sonata gas engine kicks in even in EV mode if you dip past 60% of “power” based on the “power meter” instead of “rpm” gauge. The real cut off is around 40% of power but allows some bursts to 60%. To be honest, if you are driving normal, the car is geared (actual shiftable 6 speed auto) to and doesn’t feel…
Mine only goes ~28-31 miles per charge (Sonata PHEV) but even with a roughly 65+ miles put on each weekday and mostly EV only driving on the weekends, my most recent 3 fill ups have been a few miles over the 1k mark. I typically wait until nearly empty so I usually fill up with 11.5 - 13 gallons.
The tape is on the car so we talk about it.
It focuses all of the blue light from the interior into your eye if you hit the turn indicator.
The worst view of the 3 is the front or front quarter, the view you see as they drive past you. It is not a flattering look.
Typically you end up buying the car at a cheaper price. If you can time a work trip with it or just fly economy, and stay for a few nights in Munich or in Austria, you should be able to pull off Euro delivery on par with just buying it in the US. Here is a link to read if you have a few minutes. https://saverocity.com/…
I have a picture in the archives that I took while rolling in slow traffic when the new Big Dig tunnels opened in Boston and a Statie was next to me with a game of Solitaire up on the laptop screen.
I usually find that the airlines have better new releases. When does something new come on to Netflix that you actually want to watch? Maybe 1 new release per month?
Add in the $350 to $400 every 40k miles for DSG service and it hurts even more. While the DSG was decent even though it lurched in stop and go traffic a bit, the service on it pretty much negated all of the “savings” of the TDI Passat I had mine in.
Not exactly the same but I went from VW TDI to Hyundai PHEV. The smile it puts on your face to only get regular service performed vs unscheduled service is very satisfying with the added bonus being that regular service visits are much cheaper than VWs.
The only way it works would be if you were within walking distance (~10 min or less) of the commuter train in your suburb and where it ends up in Boston. The T fails because from the terminals of the commuter rails you still have to make multiple connections to make the last mile or miles of your commute work.
I always thought that was a good idea too. I think the biggest issue is that batteries are typically the most expensive part of an EV. A lot of people would have trouble swapping out a significant cost of the car after a few hundred miles, even if this will happen over and over again throughout car ownership. This…
Missed being within a mile of this place by a day. Was in Munich for work last week. Since Munich is such a wealthy city, always cool/interesting cars to see. Right after release, I remember seeing multiple Bentley Bentayga street parked near the Altstadt. There was a new diesel V60 wagon, looked great in person. Remem…
Yes, in real life, the back seat legroom was worse than the Fusion. The Sonata works very well and I can easily fit my kids in the back, even in car seats and boosters that send their feet into the backs of smaller cars.
I am 6'5" and drive a Sonata over 300 miles per week based on my daily commute. Since you are not on the hook for it, maybe it doesn’t matter that it the cost of ownership is fairly low, has a great warranty all while driving decently well. For that price you can get a fully loaded one and that is the way to go (mine…
I don’t get why they even added mirror like stubs other than it would look strange to not have mirrors. I bet you could integrate these into the sheet metal better and still get the visibility you wanted without ears on the car.
“...removing a GLE that has been bogged down in sand. “If possible the suspension level is quickly and automatically raised and lowered several times, which changes the ground pressure of the tires and therefore improves traction – the GLE then rocks itself free.”
I always heard it was bad in MN from MN transplants who moved to the Boston area. Here, I’ll change lanes to get a 1 car length advantage and merging happens anywhere from miles out to 1mm of space left, mostly when there is 1mm of space left and you are deciding if you have more to lose than the guy next to you.
